Fifth Floor Common Room [Wednesday evening]

Sookie had gotten phone calls from both her grandmother and Tara earlier about the coming weekend. Gran had said she definitely wouldn't be able to come due to a recent storm taking out some pretty heavy damage on the house, so finances were limited. Tara had said she'd do what she could, but to expect a visitor no matter what. That was...cryptic and weird, but Sookie had kind of dismissed it as Tara being Tara.

In any case, to cheer herself up a little, she'd moved out to the common room and was whipping up a batch of chocolate-chip cookies. Partly because they made her feel better, and partly because she owed them to someone, so it'd be a good idea to have them on hand. She turned the TV onto Squee, because even if she couldn't sing, other kids could, and they'd make her happier. Plus, fake baby storylines were always amazing.

Said someone wasn't going to let being blue stop him from doing anything he'd normally do. Like hang out in common rooms, especially ones that had Scookies in them.

"Whaaaatcha makin'?" he drawled, wandering in and spotting her in the kitchenette.

Emma blinked at Bobby. Twice. "What the hell happened to you, Drake?"

"Chocolate-chip cookies," she said happily, not looking up just yet from where she was doling out little scoops of cookie dough onto a baking sheet. She recognized his voice, that was good enough.

Besides, it made it all the funnier when she did look up and dropped her spoon. "Oh my stars!"

Staring was rude, so talking was required to make it less like just staring.

"That's a really true blue. Think it's genetic?" Clark would feel sorry for Bobby's baby if it was.

Making cookies in the dorms was practically waving an invitation as far as Emma was concerned.

She wandered out of her room and down the hall into her common room, sprawling out on one of the couches as she eyed any remaining cookie dough speculatively. The mutant metabolism, people. It needs feeding.

"What's on?" she asked, tilting her head at the television. "I don't think I know this one."

"Hi, Emma! It's called Squee," Sookie said cheerfully. "It's 'bout kids in a singing club in high school. I can't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow, but they have like, soap opera storylines, too. It's sort of great."

Jaime was going to come over and say hi. In fact, his mouth was open to do just that when the Scarab started screeching in his head and forced him to wince instead.

The scent of cookies was enough to draw Jaime up two floors. Because... cookies.

"Are those for me?"

"They're for people who say please and introduce themselves," Sookie said, grinning at him. "I'm Sookie, hi, and help yourself."

"I don't know, have you done anything cookie-worthy lately?" Bobby asked.

"There's people singing on TV," Kennedy observed. "Hey, Sookie. What called for cookies?"

"I owe a friend some chocolate-chip cookies for bein' nice to me as a kangaroo last week," she said, surprisingly casually. "But help yourself! And the singing people are just bonus."

"Rule number one of cookies: Never question the cookies. Unless I made them. In which case not only should you question them, you should possibly use them as a replacement for ninja-throwing-stars. Or hockey pucks."

On his way back from the ballpit (no judging), Clark smelled something good coming from the common room and took a seat when he spotted the show.

...and then he spotted Bobby and there was no more care for the show.

"Clark, would you like a cookie?" Sookie asked, waving at him. She understood the Bobby fascination. She'd dropped a spoon, after all.

Spock's mother had indicated to him she was looking forward to meeting his friends this weekend. That meant there was only one thing to be done: he had to make some friends between now and Friday. Therefore, when he completed his call, he proceeded directly to the common room and said, "Greetings," to the people he found there.

Well, it was a start.

"Evening!" Sookie said happily, waving at the boy. "Want a cookie?"

"Hey! ...Spock, right?" Bobby frowned as he tried to recall his former cabinmate's name.

Tara slowly raised a hand. "... greetings?" she tried in return. "I'm T- Tara."

"Hey dude," Hurley said, not even double-taking at the ears. "Want some nachos?"

Tara was a little bored after reserves, so she found herself wandering the dorm.

"What are we watching?" she asked as she tok a seat on the floor, with shy smiles for the people in the room who she knew.

"Something about high school kids singing," Kennedy supplied, waving a non-cookie-occupied hand at her. "Hey, Tara."

"Squee!" Sookie told her, waving delightedly. "It's 'bout singin' and high school and it's adorable. Want some cookies?"

Hurley popped into the common room, intrigued.

"Dude, what are we watching?"

He went to go make some nachos.

"Squee!" Sookie said happily. "It's about singin' high school students!"

This seemed to be the place to be tonight, huh? "Why is there singing?" Mirax wondered. She may have been hoping there'd been a gremlin bite till she saw the TV was on.
