Roof | Thursday Evening | 10.01

The roof wasn't really decorated for the pre-parents weekend party, but it wasn't the kind of party you needed to decorate for. There were chips and other snacks; soft drinks, with more interesting selections in a discreet cooler to the side; and a stereo playing music Jack didn't much care for, even though he knew it was popular.

He took a final look over everything, then leaned against the ledge to wait for people who had followed the post-its.

Alex still wasn't sure if he was going to get a visit so he decided to drink heartily nonetheless. It'd beneficial either way. Hangovers were great way to greet parents or great excuses to stay in bed.

Chuck had been drinking all day, he didn't see why he was going to stop now, and he would have ended up on the roof regardless of post-its. The fact that other people were getting drunk on the roof too made him seem like less of an alcoholic. So this party was an all around win situation for him.

Yeah, Hannibal was just going to take any opportunity he could to prepare for tomorrow. He knew Abigail was coming but it was another guest he was slightly worried about.

Hayley didn't think she had anything to worry about this weekend, but a party was a party and hopefully it'd keep her mind occupied and she'd stop sulking.

So, there she was, her eyes wide and vacant as always, a smile on her little face.

Rose was still down about not having the visitor she'd been looking forward to so a party sounded excellent.

Not that a party didn't usually sound excellent. So she was on the roof and debating if there should be drinking even after the lesson she learned last time.

Effy could follow post-it's, easy. She'd found parties in far stranger ways... Besides, wasn't like she didn't seem to spend half her time up here anyway.

Not exactly mingling, because Effy really wasn't quite chatty enough for that, but she was here, with her interesting drink.

Zach hadn't really been getting out much, but he figured it was about time he actually met some more people he was going to school with. He was going slowly at his beer, not wanting to get drunk yet, but he was still hanging back. The liquid courage hadn't really kicked in yet.

There were more people on the roof than Emma was used to seeing, but that was fine with her. It just meant that the odds of getting someone to dance with her just went up.

The notes had made her curious and not wanting to sit the evening out in her room, Beka wandered up on the roof. There was music and food and people. This she liked much better.

Just because Kate had been against the idea of a birthday party, it didn't mean she was opposed to all parties that happened to take place on her birthday. So here she was, even if she only planned on staying a little while.

With a small alcoholic drink of some sort -- she'd really not paid much attention -- Aravis stuck to the side, watching people quietly. She knew who was visiting her, and that was more than enough reason to drink and drink some more.

Mat wasn't going to have any visitors tomorrow--no one knew where he was--but he knew all of the signs of a party.

He sipped something out of a cup and glanced around for a girl to dance with.

Sookie was a little sad that Gran couldn't come for the weekend, and that Tara was iffy, so a party seemed like the thing to lift her spirits. That, and the fact that crowds were getting easier and easier to deal with.

She found herself a (non-alcoholic) drink and a seat, her heel tapping to the music.

Bobby was blue, yes, but only in the literal sense. He was totally in the mood for partying, dyed skin or not.

He was currently debating whether embarrassing himself dancing was worth it.

Layla was sitting near the edge of the roof with a bottle of bubble stuff. In between watching people interact she would blow bubbles off the edge of the roof and watch them float down to the ground.
