She'd managed to forget that there was a party going on until late enough that she'd have felt sort of weird showing up—not to mention 'bout the fact that Ino was a bit weirded out by the idea of showing up at some strange grown-up's place for a party—and so, with her Santa hat perched jauntily on her head, she'd wandered into her common room to make hot chocolate.

It was totally seasonal. And so was the candy cane she was nibbling on. The candy was obviously the best part of this holiday, especially for someone who only had the vaguely concept of what the holiday entailed beyond 'shiny presents'.

But presents? Were pretty awesome too. She leaned against the counter and sipped her hot chocolate idly.

"I'm awesomer," she informed him lightly. "And it's Ino, by the way."

"Jaime," he grinned. He paused for a moment, wondering if she was going to make the 'hi me' joke. Apparently most people in Fandom hadn't heard it pronounced that way.

"Nice to meet you."

[intraspective]

"I suppose I should say the same?" she teased him, perching up on the counter. "It might even be true."

"You should. I mean... I am awesome."

[intraspective]

"And yet," Ino mused, "not awesome enough for a hat apparently."

"Maybe my hat's so awesome that it's invisible."

Yep. That was his comeback.

See, that meant Ino had to bounce over and try to wave her hand through the air over his head.

"Uh huh, really."

[weldedtomyspine]

"And... it... um... phases through people's hands?" It was an awesome hat, after all.

[intraspective]

Ino eyed him. "I think you're a bit of a liar."

[weldedtomyspine]

"How can you accuse me of that? We just met!"

[intraspective]

"I'm a judgmental soul," she said easily. "And you're really bad at on the spot fabrication."

"What, you think you could do better?"

A monkey could do better.

[intraspective]

"I know I could do better," she sniffed, thinking of all the lies she was weaving lately.

"Prove it, then."

[intraspective]

She smirked at him.

"A real lie ain't done on demand."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Uh huh." Jaime sounded so superiorly doubtful. He had totally won!

She gave him a languid shrug.

"Besides," she added, "how do you know I haven't been lying already?"

"Your name's not really Ino?" he gasped in horror.

[intraspective]

"It's Amy," she said, with a straight face. "Sorry, Ino's just a fake name."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Oh, that's too bad. Since, you know, this mug of hot chocolate I'm making is for Ino..."

[intraspective]

"And I, as Amy, have your cookies held hostage," she reminded him. "surely that's worth a hot chocolate?"

"Oh, those cookies? They're poisoned." Ignore the fact that he'd eaten one earlier.

[intraspective]

"That's okay," she said, "I'm immune."

No, no she wasn't.

"Oh, good." Jaime smirked. "That means I won't have to give you any of this antidote hot chocolate." That was for Ino anyway.

[intraspective]

"Excellent," she crooned. "And I'll just go 'bout poisoning others with your cookies."
