Fifth Floor Common Room | Evening | Monday | January 11

Having all of his classes tomorrow didn't mean Bod was going to stay in his room and make it an early night. He'd thought about taking another walk down to the graveyard but decided to save that for later in the week. There was time and Bod knew neither he nor the graveyard was going anywhere for awhile.

So, he'd wandered down the hall, book in hand, to the common room. Yeah, he knew he could have just closed himself in his room to read but the common room was bigger and had food. Food that Bod immediately started scrounging for. It was a little difficult to do considering he was holding his book open with one hand and reaching blindly into the refrigerator with the other. He'd pulled out the box of baking soda three times.

Putting the book down would have been easier, Bod knew, but not as fun. So, he kept trying. That box of baking soda got pulled out two more times.

[open common room is open!]

"Was it also in the fridge?" Mat checked.

"It was my cousin," Jennifer said, shaking her head. "You can't catch this from the fridge. Promise."

"Your cousin turned you green?" Mat gaped. "On purpose?"

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Wow, you're really stuck on the green thing," Jennifer said. "It wasn't on purpose. He gave me a transfusion to save my life. And some of the gamma rays in his blood got transferred into me."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, you're bloody green," Mat said, "so it's going to take me a bit."

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Jennifer paused for a second, and realized that it really was something people should be allowed to find weird, on first meeting. So she decided to take it in stride.

"Fair enough," she said. "Though it's a lot more than just being green, thankfully."

Mat was being downright open-minded for a guy who had misidentified a very friendly (if excessively chatty) Ogier as a Trolloc.

"What kind of other things?"

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, great strength, better muscle tone, better durability," Jennifer ticked off on her fingers. "And I get to be much taller, too."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
"How much taller?" Mat asked.

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm normally only five-ten," Jennifer said. Right now, she was well over six and a half.

"Must be hell on your wardrobe," Mat finally stammered.

"It was, when I was changing when I didn't have control," Jennifer said. "Now, well, I just have to make sure I have clothes that fit. Spandex is my friend."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Mat had no bloody clue what Spandex was. "Good?"

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Stretchy," Jennifer said. "Without a loss in modesty."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mat didn't really mind a loss in modesty. "Because you just turn green and get bigger randomly?"

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it used to be only when I got angry," Jennifer said. "And that busted a couple of blouses I liked."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't seem angry now," Mat pointed out usefully.

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't have any reason to be," Jennifer said, smiling. "I did say used to. Now it's a choice. So I don't have to worry about any unexpected clothes-tearing."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
"And you choose to be green?"

There was an unspoken "...why?" in there.

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I do," Jennifer said. "I like it. As I said, lots of benefits. Never need help opening any jars, for one."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
"But...green," Mat pointed out.

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
"It's just a color," Jennifer said. "Believe me. If you ever see me when I'm just plain Jennifer, you'll probably agree with my decision."
