Third floor common room [dinnertime]

As Mat had mentioned a few times, Mat couldn't cook with modern technology. But roasting things over a fire?

That, he could do.

So there he was, bundled in a few layers, roasting a few rabbits over the fire and feeling more homesick than he was willing to admit.

[OOC: Mmm. Small game.]

"You mean we're great at shopping?" Jacob laughed and if she wasn't objecting, then he was going to be all supportive and warm up that hand.

Morgana wasn't going to object at all, thank you very much. "And at producing food from seemingly nothing," she said, managing to not get too distracted.

"I think we're getting it from the same place you do, it's just automatized so most people don't have to deal with the process," he said.

She still wasn't objecting and he was pretty sure her other hand would be just as could. So he subtly moved his arm from underneath hers and reached for her other hand, cupping both her hands in his now.

The warm feeling in the pit of her stomach was surely residual warmth from having warm hands. There was no other explanation, really. "Well, you've made the process much better. Plus, you've figured out how to make things we can't. Like ice cream," she said.

"Okay, I've got to give you ice cream," he agreed, smiling at her. "And chocolate's pretty cool too."

"Chocolate is very cool," Morgana said with a laugh. "Do you like sweets like that?"

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"And here I was thinking you'd figured out already that I like any and all food," he teased. If his thumb was brushing her wrist, it was all to make sure that was warm too.

If Morgana shivered a little, it wasn't because she was getting colder, honestly. "Ah yes, I forgot how teenage boys make any and all foods disappear," she said. "You must be happy to live in the present."

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am," he agreed. "Otherwise I'd be mostly eating fish and whale, with the occasional dear or something. I'd miss pizza."

He wasn't sure if her hands were warmer now, they still felt cool to him but that was kind of normal. The shiver he did notice. "Are you cold?"

[identity profile] nevertobequeen.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I almost forgot about pizza. That's something I don't think we'll be able to find while the power is out."

She shook her head, feeling a little embarrassed. "A little, but I think everyone is cold compared to you."

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Unless they've got a back up generator," he said and look, he'd be willing to actually make a pizza run if there was a need for it.

"Well yes, but you're more awesome than anyone else so it works out," he grinned and nodded towards a couch closer to the fire. "It might be warmer there."

[identity profile] nevertobequeen.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't have to say that when I don't have any food to offer you," she said, glancing towards the couch. She could sit down, but that might require pulling her hands back, and she thought it might be nicer to stay cold.

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
"For next time then. I'm building up a reserve," he said easily, noting the lack of movement. Which meant he'd just have to let go of one hand so he could tug her towards the couch.

[identity profile] nevertobequeen.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Keeping one hand was good enough, and she followed willingly, sitting down on the couch with a pleased sigh when she noticed that it really was warmer. "You were right, this is much better," she said. "I hope you won't overheat."

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll stick my head out of the window if I do," he promised. He picked up the blanket from the other end of the couch and handed it to her before he plopped down beside her.

[identity profile] nevertobequeen.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Morgana gave him a grateful smile and spread the blanket over her lap, leaving enough that he could share it if he wanted to. "There, that's even better, thank you," she said.

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"So are you terribly impressed by my support skills?" he teased. He considered the blanket for a moment before he tugged it over him. Not that he needed it.
