Through some miracle of timing, Bobby had actually managed to get everything for Warren's party set up earlier before heading off to Karla's.

Now, though, it was Warren's turn. Hopefully people would still have room for even more food after a BBQ, because the amount of food two brilliant bakers plus one person with access to a very good catering service was impressive.

At least people could work all those excess calories off in the ball pit?

"It presents variety, really," Warren chuckled. "A different part of me to chew on."

He was kind of resigned to being eaten alive by Hinata's kitten, yes.

"The other box is from you, then?"

"She means well," Hinata said meekly, and that was a total lie. Yei was made to amuse herself. And snuggle. "And... yes, from me."

She did her very best to not look anxious.

Warren offered her a small smile, and then went right along to opening the small box.

He blinked at the contents, and then pulled out the pendant.

"Okay, this? Is really, really neat." He approved! "Does it mean something?"

She pinked up slightly.

"Thor's hammer, Mjollner, m-made him invincible against his foes," she said, glancing down. "Luck, strength and prosperity are frequently associated with it but I thought..."

Yeah, okay, pinker now.

"You were worried," Hinata continued softly. "About being of use in other situations. So I... gave you the hammer to make you invincible. I-In spirit, at least."

Warren's mouth opened. And then it shut again. And then, once again, it was open. Closed. This could go on for quite some time.

"Wow," he managed, finally. "Hinata, that's..." And a smile. "Perfect. Thank you."

He was going to wear this pretty much everywhere, ever, for the rest of his life, yes.

Piiink. She was so very piiink.

"I am glad you like it," Hinata said, glancing up at him for a moment before her gaze slid back down. It was always stressful buying jewelry for boys. Sometimes it went over well and sometimes... it didn't.

Thank goodness it had gone well.
