Sixth Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening [WARREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!]

Through some miracle of timing, Bobby had actually managed to get everything for Warren's party set up earlier before heading off to Karla's.

Now, though, it was Warren's turn. Hopefully people would still have room for even more food after a BBQ, because the amount of food two brilliant bakers plus one person with access to a very good catering service was impressive.

At least people could work all those excess calories off in the ball pit?

[OOC: up early for slowplay, yay!]

"Are you kidding?" Warren laughed and stretched one wing. All eight feet of it, from shoulder to wingtip. "With a wingspan like this, in rooms like those? She doesn't really have to do much sneaking."

He was pretty much always right there for the pawing at.

She blinked a little, looking at the wing with almost a scholar's interest: not to dissect or explain but to correlate, connect. His wings... were they like any specific sort of bird? She tried to match them for a moment and found herself glad that her specialty had always been zoology. A quick study of the anatomy of them, noting the features and their effects on flight.

Then she looked him in the eyes with a little smile.

"Likes to bat at the feathers?" she asked, which was pretty much a given.

"Nyx would find you vexing. She likes sitting on shoulders and yours are a bit hard to get to."

"Likes to bat at feathers," Warren confirmed, smiling right back. "And my shoulders don't necessarily have to be all that difficult to get to, either."

And now he was demonstrating just how flexible those wings of his were, pulling them tightly against his back.

"I can throw a coat on over them this way, and most normal people wouldn't so much as give me a second glance."

She winced though.

"It can't be comfortable," she said with a small frown.

Warren attempted to counter that small frown with a nonchalant shrug as his wings folded behind him a little more comfortably.

"It wasn't, at first," he replied. "If you do it often enough, you barely notice, after a while."

She just nodded, mostly because she didn't know him well enough to do more.

"I guess it's just a matter of practice."

"Like learning how to do the splits," Warren volunteered. And then, after a moment's pause. "I don't think I can do the splits."

See, this was important to share, somehow.

"...splits? Like... the ice cream kind or the athletic kind?"

She was checking!

"The athletic kind." It was okay! Sometimes, it was good to make sure! "Though I'm not horribly opposed to ice cream, either."

"I'm not very good with ice cream in general," she admitted with a crooked grin, "but I can do the athletic kind."
