Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

After getting back from Colorado, Bruce got some dinner from Ching Tai. Unfortunately, they gave way too much food, so he set up in the common room. If people were hungry, they could take. He could have done that and gone to his room with his food, but he figured that would prevent him from seeing how other people were reacting to the gender switch. And really, his want to be left alone was easily overruled by his curiosity.

While he was in the common room, though, he wasn't touching the TV. It would end up stuck on the Style Network or something if he did. He could deal with being a girl, but that was asking too much.

Blackagar smiled and shook his head, scribbling on his notepad in order to actually respond in a manner someone aside from Medusa could understand.

Male, normally. I am Blackagar and you are?

"Karla," she replied, giving Blackagar a smile. They'd only talked the once or so the mun recalls, but he'd thought she'd be a good Queen one day and he'd endeared himself to her forever.

*We talked like this last time,* she sent. At least mentally, she sounded like her proper voice.

He smiled much wider at that, nodding.

*That is much easier than writing* he admitted in a calm, even mental voice. You would too if you had to be in complete control of your vocalizations.

*Saves time, too,* Karla said. *And we sound like ourselves, which is comforting. How are you handling the change.*

Honestly? He sounded...surprisingly unruffled.

*Medusa's hair?!* Karla was appalled, her hand going unconsciously up to her own boyishly-short hair. *Thank the Darkness this should be over by tomorrow,* she sent. *That's just awful.*

They had class together on Wednesdays. Karla knew that a female didn't get hair that long and glossy without serious effort and care.

Blackagar nodded as well in sympathy. It was her crowning glory, after all.

*It has be an experience other than that.* A beat. *And this bra. How do women manage them?*

They...just went up! For no reason! Karla was pretty sure the wind had blown once and suddenly there is was!

Look, he was isolated for 19 years and taught an extreme form of self control in order to not make a sound. This was simply confusing for him.
