Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

After getting back from Colorado, Bruce got some dinner from Ching Tai. Unfortunately, they gave way too much food, so he set up in the common room. If people were hungry, they could take. He could have done that and gone to his room with his food, but he figured that would prevent him from seeing how other people were reacting to the gender switch. And really, his want to be left alone was easily overruled by his curiosity.

While he was in the common room, though, he wasn't touching the TV. It would end up stuck on the Style Network or something if he did. He could deal with being a girl, but that was asking too much.

[OOC: Open like a gender-neutral common room.]

This was not Scully's day.

She'd been horrified to wake up as a guy, then fascinated, then clinically amazed, but honestly. Among other things?

Permanent bed-head. Apparently.

Walking into the common room, she gave the newcomer a wary look. "Hi."

Scully stopped, took a breath, and said, "Yes. Which is... this is even more ridiculous than having the impulse to destroy things. How can this happen?"

And could it un-happen any time soon? Please?

"I couldn't," Scully freely admitted. "Scully. I'm sure that's not obvious, either." She crossed her arms, grimacing. "This is so, so awkward."

Yeah. None of her clothes fit except a pair of oversized sweats. She was six inches taller and still short for a guy. It was so, so weird. She gave Bruce an appraising look. "You seem to be comfortable."

"I hate today, I hate today, I really hate today ..." Quinn, it seemed, was determined to share her misery as she poked through the food. She was a hot guy, but she was still a guy, and that was just wrong. "And I'm taking some egg rolls."

"But how?" Scully demanded, gesturing downward, red spiking up across her face. "An entire reversal of x and y chromosomes overnight? I still have the same bruises from skiing, but my gender's switched! How is that even possible?"

...and if this was possible, could someone, somewhere connected to the island just reverse her de-aging as easily? Please?

Yes, Quinn's 'are you really that much of an idiot' look kind of crossed gender lines.

"I randomly woke up a boy," she said, stabbing a pair of chopsticks deep into a carton of sweet-and-sour pork. "What, it didn't wreck the end of your vacation? Or are you always like that?"

Scully sighed, then wandered over to poke at the food from Ching Thai. "Sharing?" she asked, rubbing at her face. She had stubble coming in. Strange. She studied Bruce. "You make an attractive girl, too. I can see a resemblance, but I'd never guess you were the same person."

"I hope my clothing doesn't give anything away about me." It was an Annapolis sweatshirt that Bill had sent her, and sweatpants of Mulder's that had gotten bundled in with her things. "Except 'hi, I've just grown half a foot and nothing I own fits me.'" She took a box of sweet-and-sour chicken and started to carefully chopstick it up to her mouth. "It does seem random. And a few people didn't change at all!" Why couldn't she have gotten that lucky?

George hated everything. As in, everything, ever. If you wanted her to list things off, a good place to start would be "my boobs are gone" and "I hate being a boy."

She stomped into the common room that had people in it -- none of whom she recognized, obviously. Wonderful.

"I hate this island," she announced, to no one in particular.

"I have boobs," Puck announced, wandering into the room. "It's awesome. I love this island."

"The weather," George said, entirely deadpan. "I miss all the fucking Seattle rain."

Blackagar waved at the girl in the room, hoping that she--maybe he?--was someone he actually knew.

This was an interesting day so far.

Karla had planned to grumpily lock herself in her room all night and brood until the stupid thing wore off. That plan had been discarded as soon as she realized that she didn't have any food in her room. So she set off, hoping to find something edible after a week in Colorado, or, lacking that, people to commiserate with.

Upon finding some of both, Karla discovered that her usual greeting seemed really odd coming from a male. "Kiss ki--oh bloody Hell,"

"Then your life must have really sucked," Quinn decided. "This is just ... gross and I'm big and weird and the only clothes that fit are the stuff I sleep in on fat days."

She glanced over. "I'm Quinn. You ... kind of still look like you."

"We should find whoever is responsible," George suggested, "and hurt them."

There didn't seem to be a single person to blame. That was just going to make this a challenge.

Great. Just great. She'd forgotten from last year that everyone's change in gender made recognizing them via psychic scent that much more difficult. She could do it, it just took awhile.

And a bit of concentration, which was more difficult, as most of her thought capacity was taken up by I'm a male. This is unsupportable.

"Hey," she said, waving and trying to figure out who this was. It would take a second.
