Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

After getting back from Colorado, Bruce got some dinner from Ching Tai. Unfortunately, they gave way too much food, so he set up in the common room. If people were hungry, they could take. He could have done that and gone to his room with his food, but he figured that would prevent him from seeing how other people were reacting to the gender switch. And really, his want to be left alone was easily overruled by his curiosity.

While he was in the common room, though, he wasn't touching the TV. It would end up stuck on the Style Network or something if he did. He could deal with being a girl, but that was asking too much.

Proto smirked just a bit. "I have to admit that I'm confused, yeah. And, as you say, I managed to wake up as myself."

"Well, to give you a leg up, I'm Bruce," Bruce said. "Now you just have to worry about everyone else here."

"Bruce?" Proto took a long look, then shook his head. "Isn't that... weird for you?" He waved expansively at, well, Bruce.

"I've had all day to adjust," Bruce said. "And I adjust quickly."

"Bit adjustment, too," Proto pointed out. "Like..."

He just shook his head. "Well, glad you're not freaking out or anything. That's pretty impressive."

Unless he'd freaked out earlier.

"I still have two arms, two legs, and a head," Bruce said. "The change could have been much worse than this."

"Well, that's one way to look at it, I suppose." Proto eyed him (her?) again. "Still, gotta be disconcerting."

"It seems to be worse for the natural girls," Bruce said. "It seems going from female to male is a tougher transition."

"Really?" Proto considered that. "I wonder why..."

"I have some theories. But it could be exclusive to the specific males in this room. Aside from Calvin, at least," Bruce said.

"You willing to share?" Proto shrugged lightly. "I've got to admit that I'm pretty curious."

"Like I said, it could just be exclusive to the males in this room. I tend to take most of this kind of stuff in stride. Blackagar is one of the calmer people I've met here. Puck loves having breasts. Calvin's freaked out, though," Bruce said. "Aside from Calvin, we're probably a poor sample."

"So it's more that the guys, er the ones who are girls now I mean, are calm rather than that the girls who are guys are extra freaked out?"

"I suspect some of the girls here are extreme examples, too," Bruce said. "If there were multiple common rooms with different groups of people, that would be the best way to get a truly scientific experiment going. I think most people are happy enough to stay in their rooms, though."
