6th Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

The sixth floor common room was all done up for a party. Really all that meant was that there was pizza, chips, and drinks (including some that seemed to be mysteriously unlabeled for anyone who might want to drink something that IS TOTALLY FINE AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE in the dorms). There was also a small American flag over by the TV to indicate that what this weekend was really about wasn't completely forgotten, especially considering Jessica's recent military experiences.

But those experiences were even more reason for her to relax, play some music on the radio, and hope that nobody stabbed anybody this time.

[OOC: This is the party with the I Never game that leads to Not-So-Final Destination Week. If you'd like to participate in that, please at least establish yourself in the game and maybe throw out some prompts!

Everyone in the dorms is invited via fliers from earlier this week.]

There's a table off to the side with plenty of moddable food and plenty of moddable drinks.

Some of those moddable drinks have no labels, just in case Big Brother is watching. Because Jessica has trained under Nick Fury and she assumes that Big Brother is always watching. Also, squirrels.

Food? Food.

Drinks? Drinks.

But Emily was going to pace herself with the less than legal beverages (because there were those, don't lie to yourself) because the game was fun when you were sober to play it.

Kenzi wandered in and brightened when she saw food. Woo! When she realized what games were being played, she decided to stay. Heh.

Alex nearly dropped her slice of pizza when the dark haired girl walked into the room, recognizing her from a time she'd rather forget. Very quietly, she said, "Irina?"

She mentally cursed at herself. In Russian. No one was supposed to know Alex's true identity, and here she was making herself noticeable to someone who might remember her.

Kenzi looked up when the girl spoke, then looked around in confusion, wondering who she was talking to, and frowned. "Sia?" Wait, no, she'd had classes with her. She knew who Kenzi was by now. "Not-Sia."

Alex breathed a sigh of relief. The girl did recognize her, just not in the way she expected. "No. I'm Alex, her lookalike. And you...I thought you were someone else. Apologies."

She was just going to be over here, boggling a bit. She was never going to get used to this whole doppelganger thing.

"Yeah? Where'd you know this Irina from?" Kenzi asked, looking intrigued. "Canada? Russia? Some other place?"

"From here in the states, but she was from Russia," Alex admitted. "Grew up in a Russian neighborhood. Knew her from there."

That was not the truth at all, but it sounded believable. So she went with it.

"Hunh. Weiiird." Kenzi nibbled some chips, considering that. "I turned into a Russian-born ballerina on one of the weird weekends. Veronica. Now I gotta wonder if I'll turn into your friend sometime." She brushed her hand off and held it out. "Kenzi. //The last name is unpronounceable,//" she added in Russian.

"Alex Jones," she said, accepting Kenzi's hand. //My mother was Russian.//

Yep, said in Russian. Also, it was partial truth. Her mother was Russian, but so was her father.

But she wasn't thinking about that. Something else was immediately on her mind. "You turned into a whole other person that looked like you?"

What else happened at this place?

Soooooo much. "Yup. It only lasted a weekend. And it happened to a ton of other people at the same time. Which got pretty confusing. I turned into some fake mafia princess another weekend. Terrible accent and all. //I was born in Russia. We emigrated when I was five,//" Kenzi added back in Russian.

"I wonder if this means I could turn into Sia." Alex was sure turning into a classmate would be the most awkward thing ever.

"And I've known mafia princess types," she added. She was aware that she might have been one herself. She was sure her father's business had been a bit shady at times.

"Maybe?" Kenzi looked amused. "Or she'll turn into you. That'd be weird... Yeah? My family's not exactly uh, connected. But we know people." She looked sunnily guilt-free on that. "You gotta do what you can to get by, right?"

Okay, so Natalie had really only wandered up here because she was out of practice with wearing heels, and walking up several flights of stairs had seemed like an okay challenge.

But she decided to stick around for a second. This beat being alone, even if she wasn't super social. As evidenced by her decision to stick around the food and drinks for a while. In her heels, yes. No, they technically didn't go with her casual, comfy outfit, and yet she made it look good all the same.

She had some fortunate stats in that regard.

"Hey Natalie," Emily said as she noticed the girl. Little as she knew her, Emily didn't think something like this would interest her. "Nice shoes."

Yeah, Natalie and social gatherings... Give it a few years.

"Thanks," she replied, with a mild glance down at her feet and the aforementioned shoes. "Just taking them out for a test run."

Both Emily and Natalie had a life of social interactions ahead. Woe.

"You seem to be handling them well, then," said Emily. "Not going to join the games?"

"I'm not much of a player of games." Except ones that involved talking people in circles, and that wasn't really the kind of game they were talking about here. "You?"

"Me neither...but I think, it's either now or never, you know? If I hate it I'll at least know I tried," Emily said as she shrugged. She wasn't hating it though.

"So how are you? Post Fandom studies and all."

"Same as before," Natalie replied with a little shrug. You know, if you didn't count the MIA ex-boyfriend she was worried about. "Just with even less work. Maybe I should get a job on the island."

Details, right?

"If there's a place where it's surprisingly easy to get a job, that place is Fandom. Even I got one, so I'm guessing anyone that really wants to, or insists for long enough could get one too." Besides that would mean she could probably get to know her better, but hey, no need to say that.

"I think I already have enough references to not have to insist too long." Between Professor Lyman, Clint, and maybe even Peter, she had a pretty good track record with being dependably helpful, after all. "But, I'll have to see about other stuff first."

"Well, I guess you have to balance your life here and your life back at home, right?" Emily asked.

"Not really," she replied. As mildly as was her usual way. "Well, close enough. On-island things versus off-island things, just not at home."
