Isabelle could roll with the punches the island threw at her. Losing two whole days to some kind of a magical coma because the island thought that would be funny, though? Not something she enjoyed. At all. There was something about that that just made her skin crawl. It didn't sit well with her, even if she couldn't exactly pinpoint why.

But she knew how to cure herself of her discomfort.

Coming down to the salle with some chakram and hurling them at training dummies with deadly precision was the perfect remedy for all ailments to do with self-control. She could focus on her body and her target, the movement of her wrist right before letting go of another metal circle, sending it flying through the air until it sank into the surface of a dummy.

She felt better already.

[ooc: Open for all your salle/Izzy needs! Slight SP from me for a few hours here, but then I'll probably be around allll damn day. Annnd I'm back home for good.]

Raleigh had received a text message from his brother to turn on the goddamn TV to CNN. Which got the initial knee jerk reaction of a younger sibling to tell him not to boss him around. But he did as he was told after a few insults texted back.

And what he got was hazy helicopter footage of something huge moving in the rain, someplace tropical looking. The Philippines according to little news ticker on the bottom of the screen.

"No way."

Yes way, Raleigh. Have fun watching the second Kaiju attack of planet Earth.

Alex was at the gym just as she was almost every day. She'd been thinking about what was discussed in the Coping With Change class yesterday. Punching the bag had become a coping ritual for her, something she constantly relied on now. Today was no different. With every punch, she thought about all the things she'd been through, and how she emerged a stronger person. At least that's what Nikita tells her often.

It was just like one of her favorite symbols: the butterfly. She made a transformation of sorts. The punching bag, in a way, helped her get here.

Maybe that had something to do with it suddenly changing color. The bag changed to a light shade of yellow...like some butterflies.

What the hell? This was taking a metaphor a little too literally.

Alex was baffled at how she made it change, but she also thought it was the coolest thing ever!

When the clock struck seven sharp, something happened to the rec room. DVD players vanished, consoles disappeared. The television was no more. Anything that contained even the slightest trace of modernity became nothing; replaced, instead, with ancient furniture and ancient toys.

You might not be able to play Great Thieving Cars 5 tonight, but the bored among you could choose from an array of tops, dolls, knucklebones, bibloquets and hoops. And that was just as entertaining, wasn't it? Wasn't it.

Two hours later, the clock struck nine, and all the extraneous wood became metal and plastic again, as if nothing had happened at all.

While Flick could deal with the cold weather, that didn't mean he wanted to be out in it, freezing his ass off for longer than necessary. And today, going out there wasn't necessary. He didn't have any classes to run to and he didn't have the motivation to slink into town to try and relieve some townspeople of their belongings.

All he really had the energy to do was wake up, put on some clothes and make his way down to the common room so he could scrounge some food and take advantage of their comfortable sofas. Doing this probably made him lazy but he didn't care. He figured he should take advantage of the downtime since it looked like he had to get back to New York sooner rather than later. It was almost Ranking Day and apparently, Mandel wanted Flick there to see the Dux title taken away.

Honestly, Flick didn't really care. He'd done it on purpose and he was at peace with it. He knew what was going to happen, he knew what he was and what he had to do so he didn't need the title. Joi could have it and be safe. The television was on but Flick wasn't paying that much attention to the soap opera he'd stopped on. His attention was on the news articles that he was scrolling through on his phone.

Time to see what the Mandel alumni (including his asshole father) were up to. See how they were wrecking lives and what the current Mandel students had to look forward to. Such a lovely world they were shaping.

For the first time in a long time, Jessica was full of happiness and cheer. Finally, at long last, good things were happening. Captain America returning to hit people until they started behaving? Great. News from New York was suggesting that mutants were starting to stand up for themselves publicly, led by peaceful acts of heroism by a certain Kitty Pryde.

But the reason Jessica was eating cake in the common room tonight? A phone call from Cap himself telling her that the President had pardoned her and that her presence was requested by this weekend.

Technically, she should be training or something, but screw that. She wasn't a fugitive anymore. She was an Ultimate again. It was her right as an American citizen (technically) to have this cake. And if anyone put up a fight, she would just call Captain America to punch some sense into them. (This wouldn't actually happen. But she was prepared to try to make it happen.)

There was also cake to share or whatever. If Jessica didn't get to all of it first in her celebration.

They lived in a haunted house!

It was so awesome! Seriously, Anya was having the time of her short life. Well, maybe swinging down skyscrapers was a lot more exciting, but she had rarely slept over, leave alone going to some fancy private school, and never slept anywhere that bounced. Which she totally could, by the way.

It had been a pretty nice day, and to finish it properly she had gotten a hold of a ridiculous amount of marshmallows, sticks (all clean) and then go over to the fire, which was already handwavily done to roast them. And to share, because there was no way she would go through all. Not without feeling terrible later.

But she was feeling bouncy (pun totally intended) and she would devour them all if left unchecked. Tomorrow was another day to have regrets.

The sixth floor common room was all done up for a party. Really all that meant was that there was pizza, chips, and drinks (including some that seemed to be mysteriously unlabeled for anyone who might want to drink something that IS TOTALLY FINE AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE in the dorms). There was also a small American flag over by the TV to indicate that what this weekend was really about wasn't completely forgotten, especially considering Jessica's recent military experiences.

But those experiences were even more reason for her to relax, play some music on the radio, and hope that nobody stabbed anybody this time.

[OOC: This is the party with the I Never game that leads to Not-So-Final Destination Week. If you'd like to participate in that, please at least establish yourself in the game and maybe throw out some prompts!

Everyone in the dorms is invited via fliers from earlier this week.]

After getting thoroughly drenched and rather spattered with watermelon bits in class today -- that crinoline was never going to be the same -- Raven came back to the dorms in search of a shower, and decided to forgo her still-mostly-packed clothes in favor of shifting into an outfit right out of the shower. This meant that she could go for an outfit that wouldn't look quite so out of place in this futuristic (to her, at least) world.

It also meant that she was technically lounging around the common room naked, but it wasn't like anyone could tell.

She'd spent the last few days picking out all the things that the future didn't have -- flying cars, colonies on Mars, a cure for the common cold, all meals in pill form -- so now she was looking for some of the neat things it did. Color television! With all sorts of different people on it! Some of them had brightly colored hair! And there were women playing doctors and lawyers and police officers and even soldiers and things!

For a girl who came from a pre-second wave feminism world, this was remarkable.

Stiles was bored, so bored. Bored and unable to focus on anything, it was a terrible affliction. After spending all day in his room doing nothing he decided to broaden his horizons and go to the common room to do nothing. Of course Stiles wasn't actually capable of doing literally nothing so "nothing" for him right now meant continuing his quest to teach himself Archaic Latin while the second Dusk movie was playing in the background.

Shut up, he was watching it ironically. Or something. It was better than watching the Mets play the Pirates. If they lost to the Pirates it'd just be embarrassing and Stiles refused to be a part of it, no sir. He would rather watch lame not-werewolves and sparkly vampires any day.

Somewhere along the way he managed to make an un-burnt bowl of popcorn and poured M&M's in it. 'Cause it was necessary to add them.

[Open, of course. Just for the record it pains me to play a Mets fan]
