6th Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

The sixth floor common room was all done up for a party. Really all that meant was that there was pizza, chips, and drinks (including some that seemed to be mysteriously unlabeled for anyone who might want to drink something that IS TOTALLY FINE AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE in the dorms). There was also a small American flag over by the TV to indicate that what this weekend was really about wasn't completely forgotten, especially considering Jessica's recent military experiences.

But those experiences were even more reason for her to relax, play some music on the radio, and hope that nobody stabbed anybody this time.

[OOC: This is the party with the I Never game that leads to Not-So-Final Destination Week. If you'd like to participate in that, please at least establish yourself in the game and maybe throw out some prompts!

Everyone in the dorms is invited via fliers from earlier this week.]

Alex was supposed to learn to be more social while she was here. A party seemed like a good opportunity to do that, so she made sure to show up. She might even stay.

"Hey. Alex, right?" Jessica asked. "From the picnic, and classes. How's it going?"

"Yeah. And you're Jessica?" Alex replied, also recognizing her from the picnic and classes. "It's going. Would you believe this is my first real party?"

She didn't exactly have time for that in the past, as her life had been far from normal.

"Compared to some things I've heard in my life, that's fairly believable," Jessica said. "But now that you've made it to one, you'll start tallying more up in no time."

"Here's hoping," Alex said with a grin. "This seems like a good party to start with."

"I should tell you that your saying that puts a little more pressure on me. But, and this is the important thing, I work well under pressure. Which is why it's my destiny to be a professional scuba diver," Jessica joked. And wow, that was a bad one even by her standards.

Alex shook her head and laughed. Little jokes like that were funny to her. "Well, I'll try not to add more pressure anyway."

"Thank you for that, it's much appreciated," Jessica said. "How's Fandom been treating you so far? You're here and now curled up in a corner, so I assume it hasn't been too bad."

"I figure, there's nothing I can do about the weirdness around here, so I might as well accept it," Alex said simply.

"That's the kind of attitude I would toast if I had a drink in my hands," Jessica said. "But I don't, so I'll just say congratulations on taking the high road with the island there."

And right on cue, her roomie that looked like her big sis. Anya loved this place.

"Nice, don't you think?" Anya asked.

"Hey," Alex said, giving her roommate a little wave. "Yeah, it's fun so far."

"It's a nice change from crazy class after crazy class," Anya said, glad to have something to keep her mind out of said weird classes.

"Did you have to fight a bear in one of your classes, too?" She had to ask.
