6th Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

The sixth floor common room was all done up for a party. Really all that meant was that there was pizza, chips, and drinks (including some that seemed to be mysteriously unlabeled for anyone who might want to drink something that IS TOTALLY FINE AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE in the dorms). There was also a small American flag over by the TV to indicate that what this weekend was really about wasn't completely forgotten, especially considering Jessica's recent military experiences.

But those experiences were even more reason for her to relax, play some music on the radio, and hope that nobody stabbed anybody this time.

[OOC: This is the party with the I Never game that leads to Not-So-Final Destination Week. If you'd like to participate in that, please at least establish yourself in the game and maybe throw out some prompts!

Everyone in the dorms is invited via fliers from earlier this week.]

"So with great games comes great embarrassment?" Emily asked.

"Tsk. Nice try, but nope," Jessica said. "It works best when I do it."

"What you've got the copyright or something?" Emily questioned.

"Technically I think this would be more of a trademark, but no, somebody else does. But he lets me borrow it," Jessica said.

"Sounds like a cool dude, with big, deep phrases and the like," said Emily.

"He was kind of my hero," Jessica said.

Emily was the sort of person that would notice the past tense right away.

"If he has your respect, I guess he has mine too then."

"Glad to hear it. I knew there was a reason why I liked you," Jessica said.

No Jessica, don't make her blush before she starts drinking!

"That and my impeccable sense of fashion, I bet," Emily said as she tried to wave some air to her face.

"No, mostly the thing where you accept that I'm right about stuff," Jessica joked.

"You are pretty smart, and it takes someone as smart to realize that, I guess," Emily countered, not willing to lose terrain.

"Technically not true, but I'll give it to you in your case. Unless we're talking science book-learnin'," Jessica said. "I've got that one on you."

"You're the alleged genius at that stuff, I won't say otherwise," Emily said, because she wasn't book dumb, but had gotten wise enough to know science wasn't her strong suit. "Funny thing, I don't remember ever seeing you doing science-y stuff." Or maybe she hadn't realized it was that.

"That's because you don't take Alenko's classes or stop by Stark's," Jessica said. "I'm not going to work on any inventions in a common room."

"Hey, I stop by Stark's...to check on Cade. I guess I'll have to remember your work shifts. I want to see science," Emily said. All she saw with Cade were drinking prospects.

"Give me a head's up before you do and I'll make sure to have a project ready. About half the time I don't have anything in the hopper aside from whatever repairs come in," Jessica warned.

"Sure, I'll text you beforehand so you can prepare something cool," Emily said. And then she took out of her phone and made a note, just in case.

"Just to warn you, I'm not the robot AI and battlesuit kind of inventor, so don't go in expecting that. But I'll come up with something good," Jessica said.

"I know you won't disappoint me. That's why I like you, after all," Emily said.

"Not that there's any pressure there," Jessica said. "All you have to do is agree with me. I have to be not disappointing. That's a much higher bar to reach."

"If I agree with you, you won't disappoint me. Makes sense in theory," Emily said. "I'll need to know what I'm agreeing on exactly, though. I'm not a smile and nod kind of person." Not always at least.

"Don't worry, I make a point to always be right, so it'll be fine," Jessica said.

"Can I really trust you, though, hmmm." Maybe she did, but you just don't go and accept that.

"Probably not, but I at least keep things interesting," Jessica said.
