6th Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

The sixth floor common room was all done up for a party. Really all that meant was that there was pizza, chips, and drinks (including some that seemed to be mysteriously unlabeled for anyone who might want to drink something that IS TOTALLY FINE AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE in the dorms). There was also a small American flag over by the TV to indicate that what this weekend was really about wasn't completely forgotten, especially considering Jessica's recent military experiences.

But those experiences were even more reason for her to relax, play some music on the radio, and hope that nobody stabbed anybody this time.

[OOC: This is the party with the I Never game that leads to Not-So-Final Destination Week. If you'd like to participate in that, please at least establish yourself in the game and maybe throw out some prompts!

Everyone in the dorms is invited via fliers from earlier this week.]

"It was actually pretty hard to get them to fling the right way," Raven said. "The things were smashing left and right. And I was already drenched from trying to climb a wall while people dumped water on me. It's a weird class."

"Sounds like," Jessica said. "How are your other classes treating you? Hopefully not as messy?"

"Nope. Though hunting wants me to carry around salt or something."

"Just in case you catch something and want to preserve it right away?" Jessica asked. She hadn't read the class description for that one, no.

"Apparently, it's how you keep demons and ghosts away."

"Clearly, I don't have enough magic in my world because I never knew that," Jessica said. "I could have used that knowledge this morning. Oh well, at least I know for next time."

"You were fighting ghosts this morning?"

"I'm pretty sure an alarm clock was haunted," Jessica said. "The owner gave me permission to destroy it since I didn't know how to save something like that."

"How on earth can you tell if an alarm clock is haunted?"

"It kept going off even after I took it completely apart," Jessica said. "That was my main clue.;

Raven's eyes widened. "Oh. That would maybe do it, yes."

"Somebody who knows ghosts better probably could have been more sure," Jessica said. "It's possible that it's just a really weird alarm clock."

"Well, was. It's definitely not an alarm clock at all anymore."

"Now it's a pile of parts?" Raven asked. ". . . Would that make it a dead alarm clock?"

Could electronics have ghosts?

"Oh, I took it further than that. Apparently we have things at Stark's that will contain a small explosion. So the parts are now very, very, very small," Jessica said. "I think it just released the ghost, if that's what the deal was."

"So now Stark's will be haunted by an alarm clock ghost?"

"I hope not. I guess I'll see next week during my next shift," Jessica said. "Or sooner than that if Tony complains."

"Well, if there is, at least you know someone who's learning how to stop it. "

"If I have absolutely any problems, you're my first call next Saturday," Jessica vowed.

"I'll make sure I've got some salt handy."

"Is it just regular table salt or rock salt?" Jessica asked. "I'm curious how this works."

"Apparently any kind of salt. It's supposed to be pure or something."

"And yet it's kind of unhealthy for people. There's irony there somewhere," Jessica said.

She said 'irony.' Dun dun dunnnnn. No, actually, that had no impact on anything, it was just a coincidence.

"Salt's unhealthy?" Raven asked. "I just thought it sometimes makes you kinda bloated."

"It raises blood pressure and stuff like that. I don't think they actually figure that out until sometime in the 80s," Jessica explained.

"So do people not cook with it at all, any more?" If they didn't, they'd found something good enough to replace it with that she hadn't noticed.
