Dorm Lawn, Tuesday into Wednesday Night

Okay, so the weather on Fandom was slightly less bone-tinglingly cold than the mainland, but that was really all there was to be said for it. One thing it wasn't, for instance, was ideal weather for anyone to stand around in for prolonged periods of time.

Which was why the Powers That Be had decided it was the exact ideal time to have a fire drill. Loud noise rang through the dorms at exactly 2 AM; good morning, students.

Hope you had time to snag a coat.

"I should've thought to bring anything with me," Celia sighed. "I feel foolish, now. At least I'm lucky enough that I've a free day tomorrow. I feel bad for anyone who needs to be able to function in classes in a matter of hours."

She'd be sleeping in, yes, thank you.

"Yeah, I think I'll be doing the exact same thing," he said, chuckling sleepily. "Well, hopefully. Sometimes, I wake up early for no reason and can't get back to sleep. Let's hope that doesn't happen tonight."

"Nothing you can do to make yourself sleepy after that happens?" Celia asked sympathetically. "Warm milk or the like?"

"Never tried," he said, shrugging. "I might go running if I can't get back to sleep. That tends to exhaust me pretty easily."

"Then I'll have to come up with a new knightly name for you," Celia mused, tapping her chin with a bit of blanket. "Damn. I thought I'd really stumbled onto something there."

"Well, I have that effect on people," Will said, half smiling. "Ruining plans and preferences since the day I was born. It's a gift."

"Can I blame you for this?" Celia teased, gesturing towards the dorms. "It'd be nice to have a scapegoat."

"What happens if I let you blame me?" Will wondered. "Will you never talk to me again? Tell everyone so everyone hates me?"

"Oh, no, I'm not so cruel as all that," Celia assured him. "I'd probably just make fun of you until we graduate."

"But, my self esteem!" he said, slapping himself lightly on the side of the head. "I won't recover!"

"Are you so delicate that my blaming you for the fire alarm thing is going to ruin your self-esteem?" Celia wondered. "My goodness. I had no idea you were so fragile."

"I'm very breakable," he said, nodding solemnly. "No backbone or spine whatsoever."

"I'll find another scapegoat, then," Celia decided. "To spare your gentle feelings."
