First Floor Lobby, Monday morning

Johnny had an emotional but overall good weekend. But after doing radio this morning, it was clear that Parents Weekend wasn't as pleasant for everyone.

And so, as promised, Johnny bought some cupcakes and brought them to the first floor lobby. They were available to anyone who wanted or needed them, provided they would accept a hug from Johnny. And no, that wasn't a thing for the girls. Guys were getting a bro hug too. This was a platonic hug of support.

And if you needed, he was willing to give a pep talk, too. Girls had told him that he was great at saying the right thing to make them feel good about themselves. Why not apply that to people in actual need of cheering up?

Fandom needed it's favorite flaming superhero to do something a little different today and he was completely willing to do that. That's what being a superhero was, ven if he wasn't on fire.

Grab a cupcake, get a hug, maybe have Johnny remind you that you're pretty great and that family stuff was what it was and shouldn't determine your happiness. Or ask him what the hell he's doing.

Rapunzel didn't have anywhere to be today -- yay, no classes until later in the week -- and had decided to actually get out of her room and stop moping for awhile.

And it wasn't until she was downstairs that she actually remembered what Johnny had said on the radio, and lifted a skeptical brow in greeting. "Is this where I get my free hug and cupcake?" she asked, smiling a little.

"Yes, it is," Johnny said, gesturing to the cupcakes on the table. "Hopefully it helps brighten your mood a little bit."

Elsa had heard Johnny's broadcast, and, while she didn't doubt for an instant that he was going to carry through with his promise of hugs and cupcakes, she really had to come and see for herself.

She took a look around as she stepped down into the lobby, and then gave him a little smile and a nod of her head.

"I'm really not much of a hugger," she said apologetically, "but it really is nice to see you down here doing this for people. It's really been that sort of weekend for some, I think."

Herself included. Visitor weekends were fired.

"That's definitely what it sounded like," Johnny said. "I really didn't expect for the weekend to be so emotional for people."

Johnny thought for a second. "Could you deal with a high five? You don't have to, but it is a great way to share awesomeness between people."

After doing the radio broadcast on Saturday, Kira had an idea that was similar to Johnny's, except instead of food, her plan had manifested into gold star stickers with "I survived Parents' Weekend 2014" written on them.

She could offer hugs too, but she figured people would prefer getting one from Johnny.

Everyone wanted a hug from Kira, too. Or they were liars. There were only two options there.

"I like the gold stars," Johnny said. "I can't take one though. I skipped town for the weekend."

"Do we all get stars?" Rapunzel wondered. "You guys are really loading us down with loot just for getting through a weekend!"

She didn't even get visitors, so she probably didn't deserve a star, buuuut it was pretty so she was going to ask.

"Gold stars, huh?" Kathy found herself smiling a little at that. "I might need one of these. Two, really, so I can send one back to her sister."

"A bunch of people had lousy weekends, apparently, so I'm doing my part to raise the level of cheer for all," Johnny said. "Hugs are also being offered if you need one."

"Ithe great thing about cupcakes is that they're for everyone, happy or sad," Johnny said. "My weekend was a bit of a roller coaster. It was rough to start with, but my sister and I are in a good place now, I think."

Ichabod didn't know Johnny, but he was definitely in need of a cupcake, and possibly a hug, although it was unlikely that he would admit that.

"You offer bakery goods?" he asked.

"This is the best idea anyone's had all day," Kathy said when she came back from class. "Probably longer than that. Can I get two?"

Hugs or cupcakes? She wasn't specifying. Both, if she could work it. She needed a chocolate infusion, stat. But more than that, she really, really needed a hug.

Barry walked into the lobby getting ready for his class and the library when he saw Johnny.

"Where's my fucking hug?" he asked playfully.

"My weekend ... wasn't as bad as some other people's," she said, apologetically. "May I still have a cupcake and a hug?"

"What's all this about?" asked Cosette, who was coming back from a walk in the preserve and had therefore missed out on the radio broadcast, otherwise she wouldn't have had to ask. She had spent the weekend off-island with her father, which had been an entirely pleasant experience, and if you were jealous of her for that because it was patently unfair Éponine would totally sympathize with you.
