Johnny didn't see what the big deal was with today. Oooh, people told the truth. So what? He liked telling the truth! He did it all the time! He was awesome. Reed was a douche. Gwen was cool. Alana was hot. He didn't have many male friends because he never truly felt deep down that he really belonged after spending his entire youth out of place. He had no idea how to commit to anything but superheroing. This pizza was delicious and there was plenty for everyone. This Kate Hudson movie was wonderful, she was such a good actress.

Kate Hudson was where he drew the line. "I really want this channel to change so I can save face if anyone comes in. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE CHANNEL WON'T CHANGE! I'd totally bang Kate Hudson."

Okay, maybe THAT was how he could save face if anyone came in.

"I was mostly worried that I might frighten you if I acted on instinct and training and punched you afterward." Hanna was still staring at her pizza, worried. "What kinds of weird things? Do you mind me asking these questions?"

Another pause to admire Kate Hudson, and the pretty dress she was wearing. And her pretty male co-star.

"Dude, I've hit on girls who tried to kill me. I can take a simple punch," Johnny scoffed. "And it'll take too long to explain, but it starts with me being a superhero who bursts into flames and works out logically from there."

That kind of completely disrupted Hanna's train of thought. "Burst into flames. And of course you would hit someone who tried to kill you."

"Flame on," Johnny said. And his hand was on fire. "No, no. Hit on. Flirted with. She was a snake girl, I was single, there was middle ground to be had, if I'm being deluional."

That was fascinating. Hanna leaned so far forward she was in danger of singeing her eyebrows. "You can just do this?... She didn't like you?" She gave Johnny a look of sympathy. "That seems a shame."

"Well, she liked the money she was trying to steal more, and I was keeping her and her gang from it," Johnny said. "We wanted different things."

The flame went away. Normal hand!

"That does make sense. It's too bad she didn't try harder to have both. She could have offered you part of the money," Hanna observed. She reached out to his hand, then pulled back. "Were you born like this?"

"No, I got my powers in a science accident a couple years ago," Johnny said. "I've kind of devoted myself to saving lives and fighting crime ever since, so she wouldn't have gotten anywhere by offering me money."

"Do you enjoy that? It sounds admirable." Hanna's dubious tone might indicate it wasn't for her, though. "Or possibly very dangerous and rather foolhardy."

"Dude, I love it. It's what I want to do for the rest of my hopefully very long life," Johnny said. "It's the coolest thing. And sure, it's dangerous, which is why it's a good thing I'm so great."

That provoked some very quiet giggling, and a smile. "I am glad you like yourself so much. I sometimes am not sure if I like myself or not." Her smile faded a little. "Not that it's relevant if I do."

"You seem fine as far as I can tell," Johnny said. "And it helps to like yourself. I legitimately wouldn't be who I am if I didn't love myself so much."

You don't know how glad he was that he stopped that sentence there. Dirty joke to the new girl avoided!

"So who is your girlfriend?" Hanna asked, curious now.

"Alana," Johnny said. "We've been banging for months, but we realized that neither one of us was trying to hook up with anyone else anymore and that we were kind of a couple. It's sweet, kind of."

"I know her!" Hanna gave him a pleased look. "She's very nice. And also pretty. Is banging slang for coitus?"

"Is coitus the same thing as having sex?" Johnny asked. "If so, then yes."

Then looked mildly uncomfortable. "I am not going to ask about positions or any particular activities. So you do not need to share that information."

"Good, because that would have gotten really uncomfortable for both of us," Johnny said. "I would have gone on in detail."

Hanna started to ask another question... then realized that Johnny would be unable *not* to answer.

So, pizza. In the mouth. It was very good.

"This is very good pizza."

"Do I want to know what you were about to ask?" Johnny asked with a laugh.

Good question, because Hanna could honestly say, "No, you do not," without having to say why or what it had been. Good. "People are easily embarrassed by sexual facts and too much information too process out of contest," she observed.

"I have way less shame than most people," Johnny said. "But you're probably right, I probably don't want to know."

"I am reading about sex-- coitus and other activities-- from a book which Alana sold me. It's been very informative," Hanna told him, since this wasn't something that embarrassed her, and she didn't see how it could embarrass Johnny. "Someday I think I'd like to try some of those things. Just not ... quite yet."

"That's fair. But let me tell you, when you're ready for it? It's pretty much the best thing," Johnny said. "Enjoy it when the time is right. That's my advice."
