5th Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning
Saturday found Kathy in a much better mood than she'd been in previous days. Enough so that rather than staying in the room she shared with Raven (who had curled up smaller than Kathy had ever seen her under her blankets in the night) and finishing off the last of the cereal in sulky silence, Kathy had decided to head to the common room to make a real breakfast. French toast, she was thinking. With--hey! A package of bacon in the fridge that needed to be used within the next day or so. Excellent! And some gaeran tost-u to make it really feel like breakfast at home.
Oooh. There was honey. She could make honey-butter! For the regular toast!
She put the TV on for some quiet background noise (was Crying Breakfast Friends playing on EVERY channel?) as she bustled around the kitchen making a hearty breakfast for herself--and maybe even a bit to share if others showed.
[Open for incoming kids! Though with SP warning as there's a sleep and a wedding to get to. Warning: - possible tw for child abuse mentions in this Dante, folks.]

So it was that a slightly grimy-looking boy with dark brown eyes and a suspicious look on his face came wandering into the common room, following his nose. His eyes darted from the woman to the food on the counter.
No one had yelled at him to do anything yet. No one had yelled at him yet about food. But he was hungry.

"Dante?" she asked, more disbelieving than confused. After all, she'd been on Fandom for a few years now, even if she'd never turned into a little kid herself.
Unless if was Dante's kid or something, but it wasn't prom, so...maybe not?

That made him even more suspicious.
He looked back at the food.
There had to be a way to get to the food.

"Hey," she said softly, squatting down so she was roughly at eye-level with him. "You okay? You know where you are?" Then, following his glance, she added, "Hungry? I'm making plenty of breakfast to share."

Before it suddenly got much bigger as Raven shifted into her all time favoritest shape: Rita Hayworth.
"Daaaaaaaahling," she said, swanning into the room in a ridiculous feather and silk dressing gown, an unlit cigarette in a twelve inch holder in her hand. "Breakfast smells divine."
Raven loved playing grown-up.

"Thanks," she said, smiling over her shoulder. Hmm. Unfamiliar voice, unfamiliar face (sorry Rita, sorry Raven), dressed like a starlet from the 40's... "Hi, Raven," she said, warmly. "Hungry?"

Thumping down the hallway, Velcro hiding in her hair, she followed her nose to the Fifth Floor.
"Guten Morgen, Kathy." She yawned as she stood on tiptoe to watch her prepare food. "Frühstück, bitte?"

Or was the word for breakfast really weird in German.
"Do you know English yet?"
If not, it was going to be an interesting round of charades!

He scooped up the kitty at the foot of his bed in an awkward hug and went off in search of food, lugging a very patient Lachlan along.
"Hi," he said politely to the lady who seemed to be cooking -- and then forgot his manners as he gawped at the TV like he had never seen one before. "What's that?"
no subject
She was mentally going through her list of people this little one could be.
no subject
"Yes, ma'am," he said to the offer of food, eyes barely leaving the TV. "But how does it do that? Is it magic?"

Sorry, Kira. She'd been up for awhile and there were a lot of children about.

She scrambled out of the too-soft bed, strapped on her knife, and went exploring.
The scrawny little girl that followed her nose to the food was brown-skinned and dark haired, but the bright silver eyes (and the knife) were probably a dead giveaway. She eyed Kathy a little warily just in case, but the food was much more interesting.

"Morning Jalian," Kathy said brightly, giving the small girl a wave. "Hungry? There's plenty to eat if you are."
no subject
"You have food?" she asked. In Silverspeech.
