Sixth Floor; Monday Evening [01/28].

So the idea had been tossed around between Astrid and Sabine about a potential random party on the sixth floor, because why not, and there was apparently a party-a-month quota to be met. Monday might be a weird day for a party, but it wasn't like this place held to a tradtional sort of school schedule, and Mondays were usually the days that Astrid needed something like this, anyway, since she actually did wind up with more of a traditional sort of school day. It actually hadn't been too bad this week, though, and she didn't think looking forward to the party had anything to do with it. Because, if she was honest, she was feeling more apprehensive than excited.

She supposed, if no one showed up, and it was just her and Sabine vegging out on all the Chinese food they'd gotten (this time with egg rolls, and plenty of fortune cookies), looking at and admiring the art on her tarot cards, well, then, that would be fine by her, really. But, since she didn't know how well she could depend on that weird thing that happened when people just knew where to find the food when it arrived at the doors, she had oh-so-handwavily made up little individual cards, a hand-painted tarot face on one side, and the simple words "Monday Night, Sixth Floor" on the other.

Mysterious. Enigmatic. Probably the source of disappointment for at least a few people when they followed the cards and discovered it was just some half-assed party, but, hey, it got the word out, and Astrid had enjoyed spending the weekend making them. It wasn't like she was plannning on doing anything but drawing and painting, anyway.

She was also wearing her mother's white kimono, laying a cloth over a short coffee table, and laying out her cards with a bit of trepidation and regret. She probably could have gone back on the idea that she'd offer to read the fortune of anyone who was interested, but, at the same time, she was a little curious as to how it would go, and it wasn't ike many people were likely to show up, anyway....

What is the sixth floor even used for if not for random parties pretty much out of the blue? And what else is there to do at them besides arriving and mingling?

Really, with a mysterious invitation like that, how could Norman not show up? Sure, he had no idea what to expect, but after a moment taken to peer around the corner and just take in the heaps of food, he smiled, relaxed, and wandered his way on in.

He'd been invited, why not enjoy it?

Sabine didn't intend to be getting any readings done tonight, but she was definitely here to see other people do it. And talk to people.

Prompto really had way too much of an imagination for little mysterious cards slipped under doors, so his mind was filled with about a million ideas by the time he made it up there.

"Oh, cool!" he said. "A party!"

And although unexpected parties were great and all, he may have been a liiiiittle disappointed that apparently the cards had been invitations that probably everyone had gotten and not just something he'd received individually from someone trying to set up some sort of secret, private rendevous...

...mm, yeah. Way too much imagination.

But it was cool! Parties were cool, too! Prompto totally liked parties, too!

The free food aspect was way more of a life for Trevor. Sure, there was a mysterious and possibly ominous note, but free food.

He could deal with some weird shit for free food.

The card had been pretty! Also intriguing, but it had caught Keyleth’s attention because it was pretty.

It was the smell of food — now a little bit familiar, even — that reassured her that she wasn’t walking into a trap, so after a quick glance in to see if anyone else was there she headed inside to see what was going on.

Oh god, what was she doing? Be cool, Borowski. Stop staring. You were doing the Nightmare eyes. You could do this. It was just talking to people and -- and maybe dancing.

A party was exactly what Tip needed after today's library shift. Socializing with people instead of books. And hey, hopefully there wouldn't be a murder mystery to deal with!

Sidon was never one to shy away from a mystery, though he felt he'd had it quite solved by the time he'd caught the aroma of food (alas, none of it particularly smelling like something he'd very much enjoy, but it was a scent that would almost always also mean good company, which he found much more palatable), and the triumphant laugh he released as he made his way to the party only meant that his suspicions had been confrimed.

"Ah-ha!" he laughed, pumping a pleased and excited fist as he announced his arrival. "A splendid gathering of some of my favorite, highly-esteemed peers! How absolutely marvelous! And what an impressive spread! Hello, everyone!"

Vette really had no idea what to make of the invitation itself, no, but she was never the sort to pass up a chance for potential free food.

And she was not disappointed.

Jack decided to actually leave his room for this. Because it'd been almost a month, and while he'd gotten used to the school part of Fandom, nothing else was really sinking in yet.

Well, there was also food and drinks! And plenty of it, too. The hostesses vied for Chinese food in the spirit of the conversation that inspired the party, and they seemed to have really doubled down on the whole 'forgetting the eggrolls' thing from last time.

Jughead was a sucker for mystery, so he'd been drawn here by the card. Whether it being a party was a let-down... Ehh. This town tended to get too exciting whenever it got exciting at all, so he was fine with some mysterious things turning out to be fairly mundane.

And he was an even bigger sucker for free food (and a certain distance to most socializing), so it was no surprise he ended up spending most of his time around where the food was.

Those were some good eggrolls.

Tarot Readings - 01/28.

...and apparenty Tarot Readings, which clearly went along with a Chinese food theme. Hey, these two were involved in a decision to make "Halloween Under the Sea" the homecoming theme, over here, what did you expect?

But, either way, Astrid was spending the bulk of her time sitting cross-legged on a pillow behind a coffee table, wearing a white kimono and trying not to seem too nervous at the idea as she shuffled her mother's well-worn, well-used deck of tarot cards, which still smelled faintly of the beaches in Mexico to her, long blonde hair spilled freely over her shoulders in her best imitation of the great Ingrid Magnussen, poet, fortune teller, enchantress.

Three things that Astrid definitely wasn't and probably never would be, but it could be interesting seeing how this went.

"Haha, spoooooky," Mae said. This was a nice one-on-one sort of party activity, and thus was less socially intimidating than some of the others. "You should, like, make up really horrifying futures for everyone."

That was fun, right? Joking about death was definitely something normal teenagers did.
