Sabine was bored. She was in that kind of mood where inspiration wasn't really striking, she'd just finished a bunch of projects and now there was nothing good on TV. Mostly she was on the sofa, flipping through channels she'd already flipped through, wondering if maybe she should put on Netflix and see what autoplayed.

Or maybe people would come by to keep her entertained?

Norman and Trevor had been throwing around a plan, almost actually a dare, really, to get together at some point to watch movies. And not just any movies either, no. They'd had a conversation about now unrealistic monsters in film happened to be, and that meant clearly they had to get together for beer and a viewing of that one about the sparkly vampires.

Look, they didn't make the movies, they just acknowledged that they existed.

Norman had actually felt weirder about renting the movie about the glittery vampires than he had about buying the case of beer, because he really did have better taste in monster movies than that while he was reasonably certain it wasn't a secret that he had no idea what he was doing with beer in the first place. So he'd made certain to find a chaser. For the movie, not for the beer. In the form of a kind of campy 80s vampire flick that he hadn't seen yet mostly by virtue of being more interested in the shambling undead than the sexy kind.

And then he'd ordered pizza enough for two, making popcorn while he waited for the food to arrive.

The amount of pizza that arrived was... not an amount to be safely consumed by two, and Norman stared at it in wonderment for a few minutes before sending a text around to any student in the dorms he had the number of:

Pizza and vampire movies on the 3rd floor?

Look, Norman didn't throw parties. Norman was just kind of baffled by the fact that apparently, he'd just sort of stumbled into doing so.

[OOC: Open party! Feel free to get a text or to just stumble on in!]

This island was completely different -- in climate and atmosphere and absolutely everything -- from the islands of the Deadfire. Maia found that more unnerving than the fact that she couldn't quite remember how she'd gotten here, which she was sure was on assignment from the RDC.

No idea what Atsura wanted with a place like this, but at least there was a shooting range here, and she could keep her skills sharp.

"Keep an eye out for anything really out of place, Ishi," she told the bird perched on a railing nearby as she set up with her rifle at the longest-range target. Ishiza made a dubious noise and tilted his head at her; she snorted with laughter and ruffled his feathers. "I know, everything feels out of place right now. Just let me know if it looks like danger, okay?"

[OOC: Open, though I'll be in and out a bit today so SP likely! Keyleth is Maia Rua from Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and continuing my amusement, she sounds basically like Beau with a southern accent.]

Sabine didn't really veg. Usually she had something to do instead of just sitting in front of the TV, but every once in a while she just felt like it. The plan for tonight was to sit back, make some popcorn, and find something dumb to watch, like a normal teenager.

Step two was where things got iffy. She knew she put popcorn in the microwave, but when she opened the door again, what she got was a little plate of mini cupcakes.

At this point she figured she'd get the same result but decided to try again just in case, and this time got a bowl (that she had not put in there) of caramel (which was not correct) popcorn (yes good).

"I don't get it," she said, and took both... desserts? to put on the table for people to take while channel surfing.

So the idea had been tossed around between Astrid and Sabine about a potential random party on the sixth floor, because why not, and there was apparently a party-a-month quota to be met. Monday might be a weird day for a party, but it wasn't like this place held to a tradtional sort of school schedule, and Mondays were usually the days that Astrid needed something like this, anyway, since she actually did wind up with more of a traditional sort of school day. It actually hadn't been too bad this week, though, and she didn't think looking forward to the party had anything to do with it. Because, if she was honest, she was feeling more apprehensive than excited.

She supposed, if no one showed up, and it was just her and Sabine vegging out on all the Chinese food they'd gotten (this time with egg rolls, and plenty of fortune cookies), looking at and admiring the art on her tarot cards, well, then, that would be fine by her, really. But, since she didn't know how well she could depend on that weird thing that happened when people just knew where to find the food when it arrived at the doors, she had oh-so-handwavily made up little individual cards, a hand-painted tarot face on one side, and the simple words "Monday Night, Sixth Floor" on the other.

Mysterious. Enigmatic. Probably the source of disappointment for at least a few people when they followed the cards and discovered it was just some half-assed party, but, hey, it got the word out, and Astrid had enjoyed spending the weekend making them. It wasn't like she was plannning on doing anything but drawing and painting, anyway.

She was also wearing her mother's white kimono, laying a cloth over a short coffee table, and laying out her cards with a bit of trepidation and regret. She probably could have gone back on the idea that she'd offer to read the fortune of anyone who was interested, but, at the same time, she was a little curious as to how it would go, and it wasn't ike many people were likely to show up, anyway....

After last week's trip home (or at least to some version of it), Sabine was feeling way better about things, and had also spent most of her free time since in her warehouse. By today, she felt like she should at least get out a bit, even if it was just to the common room.

She'd long ago figured out that if you ordered food, they'd send too much. So today when she placed her order for Chinese food, she got way too much on purpose, just to see what would happen. It wasn't like she knew what everything was yet anyway.

The delivery guy showed up with half the order, and they forgot the egg rolls.

Anyway, have some food, there's still plenty.

Keyleth hadn't made her way up to the dorm roof before today for some reason, and that was a shame since she'd clearly been missing out on the little garden she'd discovered up here, with its fascinating spiky little plants.

After the experience of having an unexpected shark crash into the simulated common room during class today, being around the plants was oddly soothing -- as was the altitude, which made her feel a little more at home. She busied herself with conjuring water to fill a bucket with which to tend to the plants, then carefully examining them and using her druidcraft to coax some of the more slowly growing buds and shoots into a healthier state.

It was a comforting way to spend an afternoon, really.
