2nd floor hallway, evening

Angel was out in the 2nd floor hallway.

In theory he was going back to his room after taking Sean for a walk.

In reality he was standing in front of one of the many, many campaign posters that had his name on it and was trying to tear it down.

He might be heard to mutter words about really strong tape, and dire thoughts about someone whose name rhymed with Doreen.

Josh held up a hand. "I'm still processing the dead part. Undead. Whatever."

He looked terribly confused. "Huh?"

"You say that like it was going to help me," Josh said slowly, his brow furrowed.

Parker's enjoying Josh's expression a little too much. "He's not a bloodsucking fiend any more. Okay, he is. But I understand he asks first now."

"Uh-huh," Josh said, trying to look like his brain hadn't just broken.

"So," he said, trying to sound casual. "Is there anyone around here who does drink from humans?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank God." Parker made a face.

"Yeah. I'm going to pretend all of this makes sense," Josh said, looking at the two of them.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't. But you're so doomed if you don't go with it." Parker smiled fiendishly. "Hi, I'm Parker, and C.J. said you'd help with my campaign. Really."

[identity profile] professor-lyman.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Hello, Parker," he replied. "And how very thoughtful of CJ to volunteer me for things."

He smiled. "I'm teaching a course on campaigning, so I'd be more than happy to offer advice."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Wasn't it?" She grinned. "And thank you! I saw that it was being offered, and I definitely wanted to sign up. Oh, and any help in getting Angel to suck it up? Greatly appreciated."

"Look forward to seeing who's in the class," Josh replied. "We'll be doing some real-world exercises. Polling data, television ads, the whole deal."

Josh glanced over at Angel. "I don't know really know him, but you seem like a pretty together young woman. I'm sure you're more than able to convince him yourself."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Great! That's exactly what I need." Parker pouted. "No, no, no, he's resisting the blackmail. He's terrible minion material. SO frustrating."

[identity profile] professor-lyman.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Josh lowered his voice. "Staffers. Not minions. Word choice is important. Plus, if you call them minions, they tend to chuck muffins at your head when you're not looking."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Parker's grin was even wider and more genuine. "Staffers. Right. Staff. I have staff. That works. And he's probably chuck a sofa, so thanks."

[identity profile] professor-lyman.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Blackmail is a fine campaign tradition," Josh replied. "Although blackmailing someone into running is a bit of a twist."

[identity profile] professor-lyman.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, there's that," Josh said, nodding. "It's not a huge trend in Congressional races at the moment, though. The Congress might be useless, but they do have to show up and vote at least a couple times a week."

He snorted. "A lot of post offices to name, I'm told."

[identity profile] professor-lyman.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Josh watched Angel babble with raised eyebrows. "Good to know," he finally offered.

"And Congress is fascinating." He smiled. "It's like watching sports but with cheaper suits and slightly higher stakes."
