Second floor common room: Sunday evening (after the Juniors have their meeting)

Barbossa feels that it's time to enlighten the new students (and faculty, should they feel like attending).

So he's gone through his archival footage of the last semester and tried to pull up video, audio, and photos of what makes Fandom High such a...unique...place to be.

He has put his copy of the holiday pageant into the common room's VCR first, but he also has tape of Annie the Vampire Slayer, the Strip Triad tournament, footage from Zombie Weekend, and Talky Toaster hitting on absolutely everything that walked past him.

In addition there's a copy of Jake's radio apology to Logan (and the song requests), the broadcast of the night Angel got souled, and photographs of Logan as a bunny, Cam as a puppy, John Crichton as Johnina, Marty as Connor, Anders wearing makeup after his first encounter with a gremlin, and the JA leather show.

If you ask him nicely, he'll even sell you a copy of Anakin's version of Little Bunny Foo Foo. He'll definitely let you watch the entire night's work of one Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants.

Come in, newbies, and be enlightened! Come in, old timers, and be humiliated! Come in, Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants! Barbossa has pie.

"Well, it is important! Kinda. To me." Broots is quickly loosing what little courage he may have had. "Can-can you please not call me your minion? It's only a little annoying to have my roommate refer to me as that."

Parker blinked. "For this, you interrupt the pageant?" She grimaced. "And you *are* a minion. If you weren't, you wouldn't work for the Centre, or curl up when I yell at you!"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

Broots did his best not to curl up. It wasn't much. "I-I-I." He took a deep breath. "I said it's important to me! And nowhere did it say that working for the Centre would include having to listen to insults and be called names!"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not an insult if it's true," she insisted, aware she was being a bitch, but unable to stop herself. "And you are a geek, you are a dork, you are a minion! You never used to have a problem with that. What's the problem? What the hell's gotten into you, Broots?"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I did mind!" Broots whinnied. "And I know I'm a geek and a dork and a minion and a everything else you decide to call me. But I do mind the fact that you're calling me your minion to other people! In case you haven't noticed, I am a sorta individual. And you're doing that thing when you cover up everything with being bitchy!"

The gremlins moved closer and started giggling louder.

Parker turned around, frowning. "Did you hear that?" She paused, and then said, "Hey! Come out here where we can see you, morons!"

"Oh gee, that's nice, make whatever that is angry so that it can kill us. And completely ignore me!" Broots is whinning more than yelling at this point.

The gremlins continued to laugh at the fighting students.

Parker snarled. "Will you be quiet? They're right over here..." She stalked toward the sound a few feet, frowning. Then she grimaced.

"You guys." She tapped one foot, then pulled it back, kicking out at the gremlins, her high boot providing protection from ankle bites.

Still not a good idea, though.

The gremlins had gotten training in avoiding direct kicks. The trick was to jump up for the knee as the foot came toward you. This gremlin must have been head of his class because it executed the maneuver perfectly.

It wrapped its arms around Parker's knee and bit down on on her thigh. Hard. It definitely made it all the way through the fabric of her clothing.

"Owwwwwwwww! GOD damn you little bastards!" Parker dropped a hammer-punch on the head of the one that got her, staggering back and holding her leg. "Broots, run!"

In Broots's book, abandoning a girl in trouble was equal to betraying your country. Even if that girl was capable of beating you up easily. "As if." Broots aimed his own kick at the little annoying fuzzy thing.

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] fh-anonymous.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
The gremlin that had bitten Parker fell to the ground in a daze. There was no way it would be avoiding Broots' kick.

Which made it a very lucky thing for the poor dazed gremlin that it had come with a friend.

As Broots drew back his foot, the second creature launched itself at his stable leg, aiming low this time since there was no danger of getting kicked. It bit down on Broots' ankle and then jumped back out of reach, dragging off the first gremlin as Broots reacted to the bite.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow...." Everything was begining to be fuzzy, and Parker clutched her head.

"Damn...."

"...What's going on?" J.C. Broots looked around, and squinted. "Miss Parker?"

He got to his feet, and then pouted. "Why are you carrying my computer?"

Krycek came in from the common room (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/371711.html?thread=15809791#t15809791), after hearing what sounded suspiciously like yelling, and frowned at Parker and Broots. "Everything okay out here?"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Broots blinked at Krycek, clutching J.C. to him. "Sure. Yeah. I was j-just, uh. Just gonna watch the pageant?" he asked, hoping Krycek wasn't mad about the inconvenience. "If that's okay?"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Parker?" Krycek frowned. "Yeah, that's fine... I heard some yelling, though. You sure you're all right?"

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Following Krycek outside to investigate the scream, Bridge looks at the three of them. "Did something weird happen again?" he asks.

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Broots edged around the guy in the hallway, and shot Miss Parker a look of dismay. Clearly, Krycek had been bitten by a gremlin. Or maybe he ate the cafeteria food. They'd have to humor him.

"S-sure. I just want to see the pageant. I didn't get to see it last time. I heard it was funny." He cleared his throat. "So, I'm going in there now. To the common room," he said, trying to sound nonchalant.

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Krycek looked at Bridge, then back at Parker, sharply. "Don't go anywhere, yet." He addressed Bridge while watching Parker, thinking something was definitely up. "Something's happened, all right. I don't think I've ever heard Parker stutter before."

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
After the bite, Broots felt disoriented for a moment but now..."Me? Stutter? Krycek, you feeling all right? The minion stutters, I am eloquent."

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I asked you not to call me that," Broots muttered, glowering at his feet. "Especially in front of other people."

Re: Outside, in the hallway....

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2006-01-09 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Parker rolled her eyes. "It's not a title, it's a description. You act like a minion, I call you that. And it's just Krycek and Bridge."

Two gremlins on monitor duty at a nearby vent are attracted by the raised voices. Wanting to get a better look, they climb out of the vent and stand muttering quietly to each other.
