4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here at each of the tables. Please note that [livejournal.com profile] peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

Janet rolled a three and a one, and moved from Community Chest on to Kentucky Avenue. So she bought it. "Finally, I own something!"

Pip rolled a one and a three and landed on the Water Works. "Utillities? Weird. Do these even count as properties? Hell, buy it anyway."

Nadia rolls a two and a six and buys Vetnor Ave.

"We are going to do something other than randomly buy fake property, right?"

Blair rolls a seven and lands on a community chest and reads out loud. "Christmas fund matures, collect $100. So I made money? Cool!"

Pippi rolls a 5.

"Ohhhh, go to jail! I don't suppose there's a nice man who gives you caramels there?"

"Sadly, no. You just have to pay bail to jump out. Or you can try to roll doubles. You only get three chances, though."

Re: Table 2 - GAME ON

Pippi pouted.

"I'd rather have a caramel and escape."

"The fun comes in when we start making deals, or charging rent and building on it," Parker told her. "Then we really see who knows how to play."

"I'd guess you're a master at the game," said Janet.

"Who cares?" asked Jack. "It's my turn. Someone gimme the dice!" He rolled, and got-- "Two threes! Doubles! I'm on my way to Chance!" He looked at his card and pouted a bit. "Poor tax of fifteen dollars?" Then glanced around the table. "Any chance for a consolation kiss?"

Parker also modded with permission, duh grabbed his shoulders and pulled him to her for a nice, long kiss that left them both a little breathless. Jack did a little victory dance and leered at Parker, before rolling the dice again. "Six and one. Almost my two favorite numbers. Who's Marvin and why does he have a garden? Because I'm buying it from him."

Janet just laughed and grabbed the dice off the table. "You're finished now, right?" she asked. She rolled the dice, moved eleven spots over to North Carolina Avenue. "Oh, high-rent property. Very nice."

Parker, grinning and ostentatiously licking her lips, rolled a six and a one as well, and took her thimble over to Jack's St. Charles Place. "Damn. I want my kiss back if I'm paying you rent."

Grinning, Jack obliged. Parker looked consoled after they finally pulled away.

Pip raised an eyebrow at Jack. "Looks like I'm in the prescnece of the hit-on king. I feel like I should be kneeling." He rolled the dice and got two fives.

"Tch, income tax."

He paid it and rolled again, getting a one and a two. "Might as well buy it," he said, buying the cheapest property available.

Nadia rolled and came up with a six and a four. "Park Place. It's expensive. That means it's good, right? I'll take it." She handed over the money and then looked at her dwindling pile of cash. "I don't understand the point of this game."

Blair rolls a three and lands on chance and pulls out a card. "Take a walk on the boardwalk. Hmm..I think I liked it better when I got money." He moves his little dog to the boardwalk and looked around. "I can buy this? Cool!"

Pippi opts to roll in order to escape from jail.

"Double 5's!" She moves her shoe out of the jail and into "just visiting".

She also tells a short, for Pippi, story about how she, Tommy, and Annika ran away and were arrested for busking without a licence. And how they escaped.

Really, it wasn't a dramatic escape. Pippi just pulled the bars out of the window and they crawled out.

Jack rolled a four and a one, and landed on Vetnor Avenue, which was owned by Nadia. He leaned forward and looked soulful. "What can I offer you instead of rent?"

Nadia gave Jack an innocent look and thought for a moment, taking a surreptitious look at his properties while she was at it.

"How about you just give me Marvin Gardens?"

Jack pouted. "Parker, are you sure you're not related to this girl?" He grinned, and shook his head. "Freshman used to be more easily led astray," he said, paying out the rent.

"Try leading astray one of us older girls, Harkness," said Janet, grinning at him. "Leave the impressionable freshmen to their own kind." She rolled an eleven and moved to Community Chest. "All right! Grand Opera opening!" She held out her hand. "Fifty dollars from everyone to pay for your opening night tickets."
