5th floor common room, morning

A challenge had been issued, and Willow did not shrink from a challenge. Peter had wanted to know what was special about Willow cookies, and the only way to do that was to make them.

Plus Joxer could use another get well present, and there was the party tomorrow.

So after slipping invitations for Buffy, River, Kaylee, and Hermione under their doors, Willow headed to the fifth floor common room with grocery bags full of supplies and got to work.

Chocolate chip cookies didn't bake themselves after all.

After checking the lower floors for signs of life, Callisto wandered into the common room. She waved to the redhead as she flopped down on the couch. "Morning."

"Morning," Willow said to the new person. "I'm Willow."

"Hey there," a very doomed Conner said, grinning.

Dean picked a direction at random that morning, and wandered upstairs. Seeing a familiar redhead in the fifth floor common room, he stopped there.

"Hey Willow."

"Hey, Dean!" Willow said. She held up a wooden spoon. "Want some cookie dough? I'm almost positive it's not teaming with salmonella."

Callisto waved from her spot on the couch. "Morning."

"Thanks again for radio," Jaye greets Alec when she sees him. She doesn't know these things.

Tyler blinked. He wasn't sure where his roommate was, but he didn't expect him on the fifth floor, and the hair wasn't quite right.

"So are you Alec, or the one who looks like him?"

Sam was on a mission to meet more new people, which involved leaving the second floor. Still, the common room was still the center of the universe. It was like a Fandom High rule of physics or something.

Plus, cookies. "Morning, all."

"Morning!" Willow said as she put a tray of cookies into the oven.

"Morning Carter," Callisto waved. "Slumming it?"

And another person he hadn't met, but hey, meeting new, blonde and pretty girls wasn't exactly something that ruined his morning. "Morning," he said, giving her a wide smile.

Draco yawned as he entered the 5th floor common room. He decided to get out and meet people for once.

"Morning." he says, stifling another yawn. He then perks up when he sees cookie dough. "Cookies?"

"Cookies," Willow confirmed. She pointed to the non-Joxer and Peter plates. "Chocolate chip if you want some. I'm Willow."

It was a little bit later in the morning, but still morning, when Molly came out to the common room in search of something for breakfast.

"Mmmm, cookies. Cereal for breakfast is going to be such a letdown now." She grinned at Willow as she went to the cupboard to get her cereal.

"You could have cookies if you wanted," Willow said, indicating the plate that wasn't for Joxer or Peter. "I'm making a ton. Not literally, but there will be a lot."

It was amazing, really, how far the appealing scent of fresh baked goods could drift. Sort of like the Pied Piper, only without the locking children into a cave in a sinister and creepy kind of way.

"Do I smell cookies?" Conner asked hopefully as he wandered upstairs, today sans soccer ball. Amazingly.

"Hey Conner!" Willow waved at him with her wooden spoon. "If they are chocolate chip, then yes you do. If they are peanut butter kisses then you are having some kind of hallucination and we should get you some help from the Clinic."

Jaye always gets the feeling nowadays that she's on the wrong floor. But she smells cookies, so she's not going to complain about it. This time.

And as soon as she's in the room, it occurs to her. "I don't think I've ever been on this floor before."

"This is five," Willow said, helpfully. She pointed to the shareable cookie plate. "Cookie?"

Pippi padded into into the common room rubbing her eyes.

Somebody is baking something.

"Mmmmmm."

"Feel free to have some," Willow said. "Just not from that plate or that one. Those are for Joxer and Peter."

Some smells, you don't forget. Some smells would have led Xander up to the roof if there'd been Willow-cookies baking up there. He poked his face into the 5th floor common room hopefully, and seeing the assembled throng, including Willow, said, "Whoa, I know you all, or at least your names; that's a new experience. Also hi, cookies."

Willow held up a cookie and used a high-pitched voice to speak for it. "Hi, Xander!"

Walter stood in the door for a moment before coming in. Same common room, different people. Huh.

"Hi," was a good "I don't know who a lot of you are" greeting, so he went with it and followed the lure of cookies.

Pippi waved to Walter from the table with a big glass of milk and some cookies.

"Mornin." she said, "I know you."

Lured by the smell of cookies, Bel wandered into the 5th floor common room.

Friend of Angel's, friend of Angel's... This was starting to become a chant now.

Still, Willow managed a friendly smile as she said. "Hi! Want a cookie?"

Nadia totally hadn't spent the night sleeping outside on the lawn. Seriously. She was slightly damp for an entirely different reason.

But, ooo, cookies sounded like just what the girl who really hadn't been sleeping on grass all night even though she still had a broken arm and cracked ribs needed.

Tyler had gone on an aimless walk in an attempt to kill some of the time before basketball practice.

He smelled cookies and saw a crowd and entered the common room, leaning against the wall with folded arms. "Are these for everyone?"
