Gym - Sunday Afternoon - Cheerleading Practice

Marie arrived at the gym early, toting her pom-poms and ready for practice.

She was also carrying what appeared to be a length of PVC pipe, which was decorated with blue and gold glitter and streamers and resting on a blue pillow with gold fringe.

It was time for the Fandom High cheerleaders to have a spirit stick.

[ooc: ~~please wait for~~ ocd up, yay. also? I totally watched Bring It On the other day for research. please do not have your character drop the spirit stick without talking to me though. I have plans.]

"Tyler?" Cameron blinked. "No, mummy! And the friend would be Angel even if Pevensie's brought you up a few times."

There were so many things in there that Willow wanted to ask about, but the first thing that stood out to her was "Your mother did that to you??"

Another blink. "No, mummy with a u. As in dead thing without organs that runs around pretending it's not dead?"

"Oh," Willow said. "Was she South American?"

"Uh, there were several," Cameron frowned. "I think they were more Egyptian. Scarabs are from Egypt, no?"

"Oh!" Willow said, suddenly getting it. "The thing! With the research and the - are you okay? Is everyone okay? I was supposed to do a spell but it didn't work out the way I wanted and then there was my head making sounds a skull really shouldn't make and me spending the whole day in bed yesterday."

"Ouch," Cameron said in sympathy. "I think most people are okay. Cuts and bruises for the most part, except for Buffy. I think they took her to the clinic."

"Buffy's in the clinic?" Willow looked upset. "That's bad! That's very bad! She doesn't like hospitals. Only I'm not supposed to know that she doesn't like hospitals. Don't tell anybody I told you that? Including her?"

"I won't," Cameron assured her. "It is bad, I'm sorry I don't know more. Things were hectic and I was completely wiped out so most of what was said went right over my head."

Willow looked worried. And guilty that her spell hadn't helped out. "Is there anything I can do? I could make cookies."

"I think cookies are always welcome," Cameron said with a small smile, knowing that feeling helpless sucked a whole lot.

"Then there will be cookies," Willow said. "I owe some people cookies anyway for protecting me from frogs."

"Seems like a fair payment," Cameron grinned, but grew more serious quickly. "Can I ask why you're not supposed to know something about Buffy not liking hospitals?"

Willow decided to aim for something like the truth. "She gets uncomfortable about people who know her from other dimensions."

Cameron tilted his head, considering. "That would explain why she went weird on me when I assumed Dawn was her sister and that she knew Angel. I thought I might have gotten her mixed up, but if you know Angel and Buffy too and you know her then maybe it is the same Buffy."

He paused. "Mostly, I just get a headache when it comes to other dimensions."

"I don't know about telling her about Angel," Willow said. "Xander says no but Xander never liked Angel anyway. I tried to ask Angel but he was a fat lot of no help. Stupid broody no-talky guy."

"Maybe it's best to let her find out on her own?" he suggested with a small shrug.

"Maybe," Willow said, clearly still uncertain. Then, because she was the master of subtlety, she asked, "So Peter talks to you about me?"

Whoops. "He might have brought you up," Cameron said as it was not so much what Peter had said but the way he started grinning when he did it. "I'm afraid I'm bound by Stickbug secrecy however."

"You could tell me a little," Willow said, making with the pouty face. "I promise I won't reveal that you broke Stickbug secrecy."

Pouting by any girl was unfair. "All I can say is that he grins like a dork."

Well now so was Willow. "Really? When he talks about me?"

Cameron nodded in reply, looking pretty amused. "Yeah, pretty much like that."

Willow gave a happy little bounce. "So he asked you to protect me? Wait, why would he ask you to protect me? Why would Angel ask you to protect me? And please, please, please tell me Angel does not grin like a dork when he talks about me because that creates a level of complications in my life that I am just not emotionally prepared to deal with."

"No, I'm pretty sure Angel's grins were Callisto related." No, he wasn't going to bring up the Lymann crush because ew and ow. "Angel said that if anything would happen to him, you'd be able to help out as you know the curse. You know him, always being positive about things."
