Pangolin Campfire [Monday Evening]

Bridge has tacked a large white bedsheet to the wall of Koala cabin that faces the Pangolin campfire. RIC is nearby, in DVD-player mode, with the second season of Twilight Seraphim loaded and ready to play. There's snack foods, and, of course, s'more fixings, for sharing if anyone else cared to join him.

"Obviously. So, what have you been up to, then?"

Alec considered that a moment, then grinned. "Having the time of my life, really. You?"

"Fighting, not fighting, hanging out . . . it hasn't been bad."

"Fighting or not fighting anything in particular, or the normal social types of both?"

"Jello dragons and tentacle demons. And some of the normal social stuff."

"I missed out on both the dragons and the tentacles," Alec said, trying not to be envious at all. "The mummies were barely any fight at all."

"I heard about those. Xander broke his fingers. That's hardly any fight?"

"I think he was another group. Ours got through with hardly any injuries," he said, shrugging.

"Ah. Well, next time, you'll just have to be in the Xander group, then."

"I comfort myself with the fact that I got a cool gun, at the very least," he said, smirking faintly. "So, on a completely different topic, what classes are you doing this term?"

"Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them, Sneakiness, Constant Vigilance and sex ed."

Alec cocked an eyebrow. "That's an interesting mix."

"I want to be a secret agent. And my boyfriend took sex ed last session, so I figured I should take it, this time."

"Sex ed was great," Alec said, grinning. "And... Walter's your boyfriend, right?" He seemed to remember hearing that somewhere. "And I guess now's a good time to get started on that sort of career track. This school certainly seems to provide the right classes for it."

"Some of them, yeah." Nadia looked away for a moment. "And yes, Walter is my boyfriend."

He pursed his lips slightly, wondering if he'd hit a sore spot. "You okay?"

Nadia bit her lip, then quickly un-bit it. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just something I've been thinking about."

He cocked his head, curious. "Yeah? Doesn't look like something pleasant, if I know that kind of look."

"It's not. But it doesn't matter, because it's done."

"Still bothering you though, obviously," he said mildly, then smirked. "Not that you have to tell me, given we barely know each other. But sometimes it's nice to have an objective ear."

Nadia shrugged. "It's nothing, really. Thanks, though."
