Second floor common room [Evening]

Anakin had spent most of the day brooding meditating and replaying the trip to Coruscant in his mind.

The thoughts it had led to had been entirely too depressing.

That's why he had migrated up to the second floor common room and commandeered the television set.

Not that the last Space Battles prequel was any less depressing, but he could keep himself entertained by mocking the terrible technology and equally terrible dialogue.

Tyler walked into the common room, bag of salt-and-vinegar chips in hand. "So what are we watching?"

"One of the newer Space Battles movies, I think," said Hamlet, motioning him to put his chips on the table with the other bag. "The writing in this is terrible, but it still makes for an entertaining watch."

"I can do Space Battles," Tyler said, setting the chips down after taking a handful. "I like when stuff gets blown up."

"Then you'll likely enjoy this quite a bit", he said, grabbing some chips as well. "It feels as though much more of the budget for this film was spent on special effects than on character development."

"Like they could have made just as good a movie with mannequins?" Tyler asked."Probably it'd sell just as many tickets, too."

"Space Battles," Anakin said. "The last one. Middle one. Um. Dark Helmet turns evil."

"With the incredibly bad acting?" Tyler asked. "But I like the plot. And the fight scenes."

"The fight scenes are good," Anakin agreed. "It's a much better movie on mute, really."

"Or fast-forward through anything romantic and then play the rest on mute," Tyler offered. "Bet there's an edit online somewhere like that."

"It'd be about three minutes long and mostly that Staffs of Light duel at the end with Ted Bologna."

"There might also be the part where he kills all the wee'uns with the power of the Thing. That wasn't entirely lame." He crinkled his nose. "What kind of philosophy is just called the Thing, anyhow?"

"One that the director simply wants to use as a way to have interesting attacks without a lot of explaining behind them."

"Hey Peter," Tyler said. "The glitter came off?'

"Ninety-eight percent less sparkly today," Peter replied with a grin. "I"m appreciative of the fact."

"It wasn't exactly a look that suited you," Tyler said, and rubbed his eyes. "Hey, I was kind of thinking about the basketball team. Next week is the last game, tomorrow's the last practice. Should we do something for the people who actually kept showing up?"

"We should indeed," Peter agreed. "Were you thinking of anything in particular?"

Tyler looked down, and then started laughing. "Not exactly," he said. "Was wondering if you might have an idea. I could give a motivational speech, but I think Coach Bluth has that covered."

"Somehow I don't think anything we attempt could quite live up to the...strangeness of Coach Bluth's speeches. We probably shouldn't try." Peter considered for a second. "We've another week to practice, I think, don't we? THe game's the first of September?"

Tyler jerked his thumb at Sam Carter. "She won't marry me, but not bad besides that. Hi, Jamie."

"Well she's nuts not to do it," Jamie joked. "I'd marry you in a second if I wasn't a guy."

"But would you blow things up with me?" Tyler asked. "Because that's one of the coolest things about Sam."
