2nd Floor Common Room, Late Afternoon

So the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned out before he'd left and Krycek was definitely of the opinion that it was not his fault.

But if it hadn't been, he'd probably still be back in room 230. Instead he was out in the CR, watching Bitterwoman reruns, and hoping Jake wasn't going to wake up until he smelled coffee. Which, with any luck, would be tomorrow.

After he cleans out the filter.

"Whoa," Cally said. "That's... whoa."

Cally's mouth dropped open.

"So what brings you here?" Luke asked. Master of the subject change, he wasn't.

Cally shook her head and just decided to not think about that other stuff for now. "The common room, or the school?" she asked.

"Yes?" Luke replied.

"Oh, well, I guess I'm here cause I was trying to be social," she said. "As for coming to the school, well, it was cheaper for my parents to send me off here than to keep me back home."

"Where's home? Chicago or Virginia or somewhere on Earth?"

Luke was very proud of himself for remembering those names.

"Nope," Cally said. "Oasis, on Caprica, actually. I'm not from Earth."

"Me either," Luke said, bouncing. "Um, obviously, if you knew my father."

Cally nodded. "Are you from... that crossaint place?"

"Crossaint place?" Luke repeated, confused. "I'm from Tatooine."

"Oh, okay," Cally said. "Your dad kept taking folks to some planet named crossaint or something. The name kinda stuck with me. Even if it might not be right."

"It's called Imperial Center now," Luke said, furrowing his forehead. "If it's the same planet Rory mentioned. I don't know much about my father. At all."

"Oh," Cally said. "I'm sorry." She chewed on her lower lip for a second. "So, uhhh, what's Tatooine like?"

"If there's a bright center to the galaxy, Tatooine's the planet it's furthest from," Luke said. "I'm never going back. What's Caprica like?"

"It's Vancouver really nice, actually," Cally said. "I come from a hamlet right outside Caprica City, which is pretty much the capital of all twelve colonies."

"I'm from a farm close to Anchorhead. A nothing town on a nothing world."

"That sucks," Cally said. "But at least you're here now?"

"And never going back to Tatooine again," Luke replied a little vehemently.

"Heh," Cally said. "Well, I hope you get settled in okay. And if you ever need to ask any questions or stuff, you can stop by my room up in 508."
