Outside the Danger Room, 7th period

Holding a large stick with a piece of poster board attached wasn't the easiest thing to do with one hand. Which meant that Blair's big protest sign today spent a lot of time leaning on the walk next to him when his arm got too achy.

He felt bad though and intermittently would call out the sign's message loudly. "Give Peace a Chance!"

"Bummer, man." Blair shook his head. "Ready for class today?"

Peter nodded. "I should think so. It's not like there's going to be actual fighting." He tilted his head at the sign. "I suppose it's a step in the right direction?"

"Isn't it?" Blair bounced. "Plus I have a letter of apology for the professor so we should be all cool today."

"Did you give it to him yet?" Peter asked somewhat doubtfully.

"Not yet. I think he got to class before me." Blair looked at the door worriedly. "Sam told me that if his Dad gets really mad I should use his name to save from getting killed. So I have a contingency plan."

"You could probably also count on the fact that Professor Winchester probably won't kill a student," Peter pointed out. "I'm sure the Hot Mountie would stop him."

"The fact that I have to depend on the mountie to get here before I get killed is not a very comforting thought, man."

Peter chuckled. "You make an excellent point." He grew a bit more serious. "But the administration trusts the Ethics teacher not to kill anymore students. I assume they'd trust Dean and Sam's Dad too."

Blair nodded and waved a hand to dismiss the thought that Dean and Sam's dad was going to kill him. "Are you in Ethics, too? I talked to Gwynn about petitioning him to employ nicer teaching methods."

"No, I just heard about it from Isabel," Peter said, grimacing. "I can't imagine the petition would really work? Unless maybe you talked to the Dean."

"He gave River detention for sticking out her tongue." Blair frowned. "And Gwyn seemed really upset about the class. Maybe he doesn't realize that he's being scary?"

"Do you suppose a book on positive teaching methods would be a good idea?"

Peter boggled at the conversation. "I don't think they would, no."

"Hmmmm...well, I'll think on it." Blair said, almost positive that a book would be just what the ethics teacher needed. Or maybe a cheery calendar.

Peter had no idea if Blair knew about Anakin. If he didn't, Peter did not want to be the one to break it to him that the Ethics teacher was probably not going to be helped by Seven Ways to Become a Super Teacher. "Perhaps something will come up," he said non-committally. "Good luck with Professor Winchester, in any case. I can stick around if you like, after class? To make sure you don't have to wait for the Mountie?"

"Thanks, man. But you're right, he's not really going to kill me." Blair shrugged. "He might give me detention though, so I don't think you should stick around unless you want to get caught up in that mess."

"I've already had detention this term," Peter replied with a grin. "I don't particularly wish to have it twice in two Saturdays, but if you're concerned at all..."

"I'm cool, man." Blair bounced and grinned. "My arm may be broken, but my legs still work. If he starts looking grumpy I'll take off."

Peter laughed. "Don't call it running. Say 'discretion is the better part of valour," he said with a wink. "Makes it sound better."

"Sounds a lot better." Blair laughed. "Thanks, man."

"Also those who turn and walk away, live to fight another day," Peter replied with a grin. He glanced at the class. "I probably should go in. Good luck with Professor Winchester, Blair. Take care of yourself."
