Outside Hunting Class, Period 7

"Negotiation not Annihilation!" Blair chanted as he paced in front of the classroom, carrying a sign saying the same. "Negotiation not Annihilation! Also, have some cookies!"

He had thought about carrying a smaller sign stating that the slogan was Professor Lyman's idea and the cookies were Aziraphale's, but then he figured that it probably wouldn't help inter-teacher relations at all.

"So you believe monsters should be tolerated and allowed to go about their monstrous ways?" The Doctor asked.

"First off, just because some beings are called monsters doesn't mean that they act monstrous." Blair nodded. "Secondly, I think that there are other ways to stop conflicts that don't involve death."

"If they aren't monstrous, then they aren't monsters," the Doctor said. "Mislabelling isn't the matter at hand. And there are tons of ways to handle conflicts other than death. But sometimes, it is the right way."

"But he's not teaching 'Ways to handle conflicts in ways that may or may not include death'. He's teaching Hunting 101." Blair frowned.

The Doctor nodded. "Name me one thing on his syllabus you feel is being wrongly persecuted."

"Vampires." Blair said immediately although he had never seen the syllabus. He was sorta banking on the fact that the Doctor hadn't seen it either.

"Why?" the Doctor asked, as that was his reasons for this line of conversation. Whether or not he knew the syllabus wasn't the meaning behind this at all.

"Vampires can't help what they've become and how they need to survive. They should be given access to alternative blood supplies instead of being staked."

"Do you speak from blind hope, or actual experience with vampires?"

"I know a couple." Blair said. "And both of them use non-human blood alternatives."

"Would you say that rules should be made for the exceptions?" the Doctor asked. "Because in my experience they're usually heartless bloodsuckers bent on inflicting pain and only concerned about their own pleasures."

Blair sighed and muttered. "It's entirely possible that I need to get out more."

"It's true that I don't have pratical experiences to base my ideas on, man."

The Doctor nodded. "But your sentiment is good," he said. "And there's a lot to be said for being willing to stand for your ideals."
