Outside Hunting Class, 7th period

Lurking outside hunting class is a rawhead, a monster covered in dark matted hair and holding a sign that says 'I can be your friend!'. The costume is convincing, but if you watch the rawhead long enough you might be able to see it bounce.

Blair grinned under the mask and gave another small bounce. The costume had come in yesterday and luckily it was big enough that he could wear it over his cast. He practiced his growls and grunting while he waited for the students to show up. "Grrrr. GRRRR! Grrr."

Rawhead facepalming? Very odd looking.

"Well, they're bad apples in every bunch. You humans kill things too." Blair said with a growl.

"Yes," John agreed easily. "In my case I kill things to keep them from, oh, eating children."

"You probably murdered my brother based on rumors and unsubstantiated child-eating claims." Blair took a step closer. "Grr. Make friends not graves!"

"You missed the part where I said I actually saw it, didn't you?" John asked dryly, trying not to think about those actual memories. There were very few things as horrible as not getting there in time to save a child.

Blair frowned, trying not to think of that mental picture and failing. Mr. Winchester's life seemed like it kinda sucked sometimes.

"...do you need a hug?"

John blinked at him. "What?"

The rawhead bounced forward to try and embrace John in a hug.

John automatically took a step back.

Blair grinned under his mask and darted forward another step.

"Mr. Sandburg, I don't think-"

Blair pounced and enveloped John in the biggest hug he could manage clad in a rawhead costume.

"Grr." Blair growled contentedly.

Sam had been lagging behind after class, so he came out of the room just in time to see...something hugging his dad.

"This is what I get for not carrying a camera around constantly."

"Thank god for small favours," John muttered, trying to get Blair to let go.

"Grrr!" Blair growled cheerfully and patted John on the back with a hairy rubbery hand.

It took Sam a moment to hold onto his composure and not laugh, before putting on a fake look of shock. "I can't believe you, Dad. I always wondered if you'd go soft on us, but I never thought I'd actually see it."

John sent his youngest son a quelling look and started trying to pry Blair's arms off him.

Even if Blair wasn't wearing a cast and a big costume, it wouldn't have taken much to pry him off so he stepped back and bounced.

"Grr! Don't you feel better?" Blair growled, trying not to laugh.

"That's not exactly the word I'd choose," Johm muttered.

"Would you use the word mellow?" Blair grinned behind the mask.

"I don't think that's a word in his vocabulary," Sam replied helpfully.

John glanced at Sam with an irritated look then grinned. "I think Sammy needs a hug too," he told Blair.

"Grr!" Blair turned and bounced towards Sam with it's arms out.

Sam put his hands up and stepped back. "Blair, don't even think about it," he warned.

"He obviously needs to mellow out," John put in, still grinning.

"Rawheads are equal opportunity huggers." Blair said cheerfully and pounced at Sam.
