Outside Hunting Class, 7th period

Lurking outside hunting class is a rawhead, a monster covered in dark matted hair and holding a sign that says 'I can be your friend!'. The costume is convincing, but if you watch the rawhead long enough you might be able to see it bounce.

Blair grinned under the mask and gave another small bounce. The costume had come in yesterday and luckily it was big enough that he could wear it over his cast. He practiced his growls and grunting while he waited for the students to show up. "Grrrr. GRRRR! Grrr."

Nadia headed for the danger shop around seventh period as was becoming a habit, to see if Blair was protesting again.

She had enough experience with undercover work and observation to be pretty sure that the monster outside of the shop was, in fact, the bouncy hippie, but it did give her pause, and, well, she wasn't 100% sure.

So she decided to play along.

"Eeeeee, there's a monster in the hallway!"

"Grr." Blair growled in a deep voice. "But don't worry, human. I'm here to show you how we can be friends!"

"Of course not, I'm don't eat humans. That's just a rumor that people started because they were afraid of how I looked." Blair coughed and covered it with a growl. "Grrr. Sorry, frog in my throat."

"Well, it makes sense. I mean, you're ugly and have very bad hair and growl. So you must be evil."

There was a monster in the hallway. Its thoughts were very Blair-like though. River smiled.

"Want me to ask Berthold if he'd join you?"

"No, that's okay. I think he'd be bored without any ice cream." Blair bounced and then stopped, switching to his growly voice. "Uh...I mean...grrr. Nice to meet you, human girl."

River giggled. "You could always bribe Bertie with ice cream. He'll do anything for ice cream. And he's good at squealing."

"Grr!" Blair grinned, although River couldn't see it behind the mask. "Maybe Berthold could help out with a later protest. I'll be sure to tell Blair that he's available."

"Any other messages you want me to pass on to Blair?"

"Just tell him I got a dress. It's yellowish with some silver. And that I think he's cute."

River turned and left, still grinning.

By this time, when John left the classroom each week, he was anticipating running into his own personal protestor. This week actually rendered him speechless for a second or two.

Then he smiled. "I'd say you were looking better, Mr. Sandburg, but you're really, really not."

"Grr." Blair growled and shook his sign. "I'm here to encourage your students to make friends with guys like me."

"Not quite." John's smile turned a bit wolfish. "They eat the bones of children. Naughty children, or so the tales say, but I've never met one that really discriminates between naughty and good children."

Having stopped by his office for some handwavey and completely made-up business, Aziraphale happened past the danger shop and was given pause by the strange sight in the hallway. He stopped for a moment, then chuckled softly and set a mug of tea on the floor next to the creature.

"Just in case you get thirsty while you're making all those new friends," he murmured, with a wink, before heading on his way.

"Grr!" Blair growled a thanks and sneakily took off his mask to sip tea. Growling was hard on the throat!

Alanna blinked as she stared at ... the thing. "Not enough coffee in the world." She headed into the classroom. "Oh! If you see a small, black cat? Eat it. It's for the good of humanity."

"Can you make an exception?" Alanna looked very hopeful.

"Only evil monsters eat cats. Did you see my sign?" Blair waved the sign. "I'm nice."

Walter blinked at the... thing. That bounced. Where Blair had been every week for his protest.

"You can't have a cigarette."

"I don't really want one." Blair said in a deep voice. "Cause us Rawheads practice good lung health. Grr."
