Outside the danger room, 7th period

It was Wednesday so Blair was outside of the danger room holding a sign. After talking to John yesterday and finding out about what he was planning to do this weekend, Blair had gone back to his first sign. Only with a few edits so it now read, 'Winchester = Murder'.

[ooc: As always, posted with permission. Also, Blair is sad that there's not a protesting tag. Never mind! Yay! *hugsomg*]

"Look, you want to protest my class? Fine. I've almost gotten used to it. You want to call me names? You won't be the first. Considering what I've had thrown at me, names really aren't that big a deal anymore." John's voice went colder. "But you start going after my family, we're going to have issues. That sign? Is as much an insult against my boys as me."

"They've done nothing they need to be ashamed of, at least as far as hunting goes," John said steadily. "Protesting my class, I'll even give you protesting my own presence here, can be seen as just your free speech. You start targeting out my boys -- who are just students here like you -- you're moving past free speech and into harrassment. Unless you're going to tell me that no other student here has ever killed anything. You can't call my sons murderers and use your friend Bel as the posterchild for redemption at the same time, for example."

"You say I'm a murderer, my boys are murderers because we kill things that are hurting people. Isn't that exactly what Bel did when you were attacked?"

"So Bel was with you when you were attacked then? He didn't arrive after the fact specifically to deal with the threat?" John had no idea how he was managing to actually continue trying to reason with Blair and not just give him something to really protest over, but so far he was managing to hold onto his temper by his fingernails.

"Well I don't see any sign saying 'Belthazar=Murder' so you must think it's okay if he does it." John gave a tight smile. "Which means we're back to you harrassing my family for behaviour you let pass unremarked upon in others."

John raised an eyebrow. "Did you?"

John sighed. "I really don't have time to deal with this today. You're free to protest my class, and I don't mind our discussions when I have time and when you remember to not be deliberately offensive. Which that sign is. So, I'm giving you a choice. You can take the sign down and destroy it and apologise to Sam and Dean when you see them for harrassing them, or you can spend Saturday in detention."

"Unless you're going around calling every student who's ever killed anything in defense of others a murderer, then yeah, I expect you to apologise to my sons. Actually, even if you are calling every other student a murderer, I still expect you to apologise to them. They've been through enough in life. They don't need people throwing those kinds of names at them."

"As long as by recycle you don't mean being back here next week with it," John said dryly.

"Then recycling's fine," John said with a nod.
