Main Campfire - Evening

Isabel and Cameron had managed to get the campfire going in the main area. Luckily the weather was a lot clearer than yesterday and things had remained dry. There were several containers with snacks and beverages standing along the side and there was an abundance of marshmallows for people to get through a whole weekend with.

And now it was just a matter of waiting for people to show up and recapture the cabin spirit one last time before fall and winter truly set in.

((Open like an open thing. There were posters up yesterday so there's no excuse for your character not to know about it! Unless, of course, you happen to have a stubborn one who has trouble reading stuff. Ah, aren't you blessed if you do.))

"And so you shouldn't," Peter said. He tilted his head. "I haven't talked to you enough recently. I'm not sure who your girlfriend is."

"Right. Sorry," Cameron said sheepishly. "Veronica Mars? She's an alumni now."

"Ah, I think I saw you and her at Homecoming?" Peter asked. "Is she is in school somewhere else now?"

"That would have been here," he nodded, grinning broadly as he remembered that weekend. "Yeah, she's going to college on the other side of the country."

"That has to be difficult," Peter said, frowning slightly. "Are you going to see her over Break?"

"It is," Cameron agreed, letting his mind travel back to the phonecall. While he'd missed her before, it was the first time that he knew something was wrong and he wasn't there. "And yeah, we just talked about it. I'm going over there this Friday to stay the weekend."

Peter nodded, not really wanting to think about the possibility of having to go home and completely separated from Willow and Fandom. "Makes it a bit better."

"Definitely," he said, eating another marshmallow. "I get the feeling the whole week is going to crawl by before it gets to Friday."

"I hear there's Halloween to be a distraction," Peter pointed out. "People seem to be getting excited about it anyhow."

"True," Cameron blinked. "Wow, I think I managed to forget about it. I haven't even come up with a costume yet."

"I don't know about the whole costume thing," Peter replied. "But at least you're not dreadfully upset there aren't any classes next week."

Cameron chuckled. "I find that I can live with that just fine actually."

"You and me both. But Willow was sad. And then Blair looked at me like I suggested killed a bunny rabbit."

"I'm sure they'll survive by rereading their notes from classes," Cameron chuckled.

"Or rewriting all their notes so they can highlight with a more cohesive scheme," Peter replied, laughing.

Cameron snickered. "People do that?"

"I don't know about people, but Willow does," Peter said with a fond smile. "I think she's ever hopeful that she can convince me to do the same one day."

"Don't give in, man. It's one thing to actually wear girls' clothes for them, it's quite another to let them organise your notes," Cameron told Peter.

"I would say waring their clothes might be crossing the line," Peter teased. "But never fear, my notes are my own, and she is starting to cope with that fact."

"It isn't if you use your cards right," Cameron assured him. "But that's good to know. That your notes are safe, I mean."

"As long as it works out for you, man," Peter replied with a grin. "Have to keep them amused somehow."

"Exactly, even if I usually prefer to keep it more private," he said.

"I'm with you there, but I think they're amused to see what they can push us into with a mere ~~headtilt~~ request."

"I'm going to have to play hard to get for about a month or something," Cameron decided, but quickly frowned. "Maybe I should save that until after the visit. I kind of don't want to be hard to get for it."

Peter laughed. "Easier on you to play hard to get over the telephone."
