Main Campfire - Evening

Isabel and Cameron had managed to get the campfire going in the main area. Luckily the weather was a lot clearer than yesterday and things had remained dry. There were several containers with snacks and beverages standing along the side and there was an abundance of marshmallows for people to get through a whole weekend with.

And now it was just a matter of waiting for people to show up and recapture the cabin spirit one last time before fall and winter truly set in.


((Open like an open thing. There were posters up yesterday so there's no excuse for your character not to know about it! Unless, of course, you happen to have a stubborn one who has trouble reading stuff. Ah, aren't you blessed if you do.))

Rory sighs again, gets out her phone, and hits a button. "It's ringing," she tells Jaye.

Jaye starts grinning, and folds her arms over her chest. "Tell him I said hi!"

"Hi Taylor, it's Rory Gilmore," she says when a man's voice picks up. "Hi. Yes, I'm great. School's fun. Mom is just dandy. Luke...hey. That wasn't nice, Taylor. Um, Luke is fine, too, and I'm not telling him you said that. Anyway, can we borrow the space heaters? Also, my friend Jaye says hi."

She pauses, and covers the mouthpiece. "He says hi back," she says, which isn't true because Taylor's voice can be heard babbling out of the earpiece.

"He sounds nice," Jaye says seriously.

"My chances for being the scarlet woman in the battle reenactment? Gone now," Rory says to Jaye as Taylor keeps talking in her ear.

"Tell him I made you! Tell him I'm... I don't know, holding your puppy hostage if you didn't call or something."

"Taylor, Jaye threatened to eat my puppy if I didn't call."

Pause.

"No, I'm not on drugs, sir. Have a good night."

She hangs up. "He said no."

"He's a puppy-hater," Jaye decides.

"He likes kitties, though," Rory tells her.

"Then why didn't you say I threatened to eat a kitten?"

"Because I don't have one!"

"It didn't have to be your kitten!"

"Well, then whose would it be?"

"A random kitten off the street. A poor wee stray!"

"I don't know any wee strays!"

"I didn't actually threaten to eat Vladdie, either, but you still said it!"

"Yes, but if I couldn't think of a specific kitty, I would not be convincing."

"You could have said I threatened to eat Angela's cat. Or Faithful," she says.

"Those are not baby kitties," she points out.

"But you wouldn't want them to get eaten right?" She may be cursing method actors right now.

"Sometimes I think Faithful deserves it," she says.

She pauses. "He'd snark on me the whole time. It'd be all bad."

"But," Rory says, "you could tell him to shush. He might listen."

Jaye kind of looks at her funny. "You think so?"

"I don't know. It's worth a shot," says Rory.
