Saturday evening, just outside the school grounds

There really was something irresistable to the trolls about the giant castle thing at the top of the hill.

I mean, come on! Trolls, castle . . . it was like a match made in heaven!

So, once they'd made lots of good headway pillaging and rampaging through the town, the trolls started on their way up the hill, aimed for the gates to the school, grinning and slathering and singing creepy, troll-y songs of glee.

The energy blasts hit the trolls, spinning them into each other and causing a few to fall and get tangled up with each other.

They push each other before starting to get back up and head for Bridge and Z again.

"It's set on high!" Z cried as she watched the trolls begin to advance again. A few of the Zs got distracted by shaking their weapons in frustration.

The trolls were slow and, upon seeing more people than earlier, blinked and looked at each other.

One of the trolls, clearly thinking this was some sort of black magic, threw himself at Z, screaming wildly.

Lacking other ideas, Z did as she had with the mummy that summer and tried to pistol-whip the troll with her weapon.

Bridge fires at the troll, hoping to divert its attention.

The troll gets pistol whipped and fired at and he falls into a heap at Bridge and Z's feet. He groaned, made sound of pain and clutched at their ankles.

Z did not like having her ankles clutched at. The troll found himself surrounded by five Zs, all kicking him.

The troll curled into a ball, trying to protect himself and still claw at the kicking legs.

The Zs kept kicking. It was kind of stress-relieving, actually.

Bridge's ankles might be clutched at, but his hands are free. He decides to copy Z's earlier idea and just hit the troll with his weapon.

The troll really weren't expecting hand to hand combat with two students. This wasn't as easy as the females said it would be.

They'd been lied to!

Several trolls managed to move away and threw rocks at both Bridge and Z.

"Trolls at twelve o'clock!" Z called.

"That's two o'clock, Z!" Bridge replies, firing off a shot.

"Shut up, I'm new at this!" Z said, shooting at the trolls.

One troll, not slowed by the energy fire, swung his cudgel towards Bridge and Z, aiming for shoulders and heads.

"Ack!" Bridge flails and ducks out of the way.

Several Zs hit the deck to avoid being flattened, because Z did not need five concussions when she reabsorbed them. "HEY!"

The trolls laugh at Bridge and Z, enjoying their talents. One troll advanced on Z, cudgel swinging dangerously and another moved towards Bridge, hands outstretched.

And then that Z was not there, as Z had reabsorbed her, her eyes glowing yellow for a moment. Now there were only four Zs.

The trolls were confused. "Trickery!"

One threw a rather large rock at Z.

Z dodged, but the rock clipped her arm. "Hey! OW!"

"Hey! No throwing rocks at my teammate!" Bridge says rather indignantly.

"Stop me then, pale boy," one troll said, smirking and swung his cudgel at Bridge's stomach.

"Since you asked," Bridge says, dodging the cudgel and bringing up his sidearm to fire again.

The troll was getting just about tired of the pale boy's attempts at harm. He whistled and a smaller, pudgier troll waddled over and curled himself into a ball.

The troll picked up the other troll and physically threw him quite hard at one of Bridge's ankles.
