Alec had apparently decided to take Hades' announcement to heart today, as he sat in the common room kitchen with a giant pot on the stove and many weetiny penguins running around. The stove was on, the water coming to a boil, and Alec was hungry.

[OOC: ...someone come tell him the penguins are not for eating?]

"You know... I don't think penguins are delicacies anywhere," she says slowly.

"They might be," Alec says, eyes widening. "But so what?"

"But... they're penguins," Jaye says. "I'm pretty sure you're a poacher if you eat zoo animals or something."

"They're not in a zoo," Alec points out. "They're in Fandom. And I think you poach eggs, not penguins."

"Well, they would be in a zoo, but they're not, and you can totally poach animals, just... not like eggs." She sighs. "Why don't you go lick Stickbug again? I'm sure it's the same thing, and maybe more nutritious."

"That was pretty gross, actually," Alec says, grimacing. "Also the cabin's not meat."

"I'll take you to Luke's for a burger if you don't eat the penguins," she tries. Because the one on her shoe is trying to hide under her pant leg now.

"Really?" He looks tempted. "But the announcement this morning..."

"Have you met our vice principal?" she asks. "You are scaring the penguin in my pants, Alec."

Seriously, it's under her jeans all huggled against her leg.

"Um, I don't think so," Alec says, looking at Jaye's pants. "And maybe it's a penguin with good taste."

"He's not to be listened to. And the penguin has no taste, oh my god. It's a penguin!" she flails.

"He probably tastes like chicken," Alec says thoughtfully. "But why else would he be in your pants?"

"First, you're assuming it's a he, and I'm so not thinking about a lesbian penguin hitting on me. Also, it's scared because you might eat him. Also, then eat some chicken!"

"But what if it doesn't taste like chicken? Then I've totally missed out and lost a good opportunity for a new experience," Alec says, frowning.

"Penguin!" she insists, as she is out of arguments.

"Monkeys!" Alec says in return.

"You're not trying to eat monkeys, though! Oh my god, would you try to eat monkeys?"

"I might if they where here! People do eat monkeys, you know."

...She used to date a potential monkey-eater.

"But they're primates! Genetic cousins or whatever." She frowns. "Would you eat a cat?"

"If I had to," Alec says honestly. "But that's a lot more work."

"Okay, you and I need to sit down and have a long talk about good and bad eating habits. Sugar, good. Penguins, monkeys and kitties, bad."

"But they're meat," Alec protests, almost sadly.

"Okay, how about this. Anything you have to catch and kill to eat? No eating," she says.

"What if I'm stranded in the wilderness?" Because that could totally happen.

"That's another story, but then leave the penguins and monkeys alone." She pauses. "Well, depending on what sort of wilderness you're in."
