Seely had gotten up early for reasons that nothing to do with girlfriend-enforced temporary celibacy, and immediately gone down to the gym to work off the 'excess energy'.

He was in no way imagining any Princes of Archenland's faces on the heavy bag as he punched it.

Seely grunted as Cor's fist connected. "Different kind of upset," he said, attempting to jab his elbow into his solar plexus.

"Girls may be complicated, but upset is up-oomph!" The jab connected and Cor found himself doubling over again, winded and in pain.

"You obviously don't know many girls." Pity that.

"I know plenty of girls!" He didn't.

"Sure you do." Seely didn't believe him.

"There's that sarcasm again. This time it's certainly misplaced." It wasn't. "I know enough girls to make my judgment that they're complicated and confusing sound. Speaking of judgment, you're very judgmental."

One day, Cor was going to learn the fine art of diplomacy and excel at it. Today was not that day.

"One, you know one girl," Seely said, holding up a finger. "And that one girl is Aravis, who you definitely shouldn't judge all girls by."

What with the rest of them coming up lacking and all.

"Okay, yes, Aravis was the first girl I met and, by the way, she didn't exactly make a grand first impression. All of the other girls I've met," the ones from Anvard that he only knew from afar because he was too shy to talk to them, "are just as puzzling as she is."
