Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

"Can you hand me the ginger?" Ronan asked, as he ground some spices with a mortar and pestle. "The fresh, I mean." The fragrant smells of cooking curry were already pervading the common room, and probably making their way through the rest of the dorms. When Isabel handed over the asked-for ginger, he added some to the mixture in the mortar, and went back to grinding. "Thanks. I hope this isn't too spicy for whoever else comes along," he added.

Ronan shrugged. "Couldn't get home," he said. "Wizardry didn't work quite as powerfully in that world, for a variety of reasons -- I mean, I wasn't defenseless or anything, but some of the larger stuff..." He shrugged. "Ended up having to find this sword that can cut through dimensions. I mean, a lot of swords can, Fragarach especially, but this one was designed for it."

"Ooooo." Charlie may have been planning a Ginsu-knife-sword segment for the Nomadic Celtic Chef in her head. "Was it hidden in the heart of a volcano somewhere? Or in the middle of an iceberg?" Because that's where she would be hiding it.

"Old church, actually," was the reply. "Well, more of a temple, actually. Christianity merged more with the Celtic traditions in that world, rather than just subverting them, so there were stronger druidic influences."

"Ohhhh. Hunh. Cool. Not dangerous, but cool," Charlie said, settling herself in to chow down. "I'm glad you found it and got back here, though. Nita and Kit were freaking out, you know. They kept getting 'out of ambit' messages that whole weekend."

"I can imagine." Shaking his head slightly, Ronan continued, "I messaged them to let them know I was back okay, and a little of what happened, but... I should probably go visit them at some point. Even just for a day."

"Hunh." Charlie shook her head. "I don't know if the time travelers from the future are weirder than those from just a little while ago, but I definitely think you guys are more confusing." She cocked her head. "I'm glad you're back, even if I didn't have time to miss you."
