Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

"Can you hand me the ginger?" Ronan asked, as he ground some spices with a mortar and pestle. "The fresh, I mean." The fragrant smells of cooking curry were already pervading the common room, and probably making their way through the rest of the dorms. When Isabel handed over the asked-for ginger, he added some to the mixture in the mortar, and went back to grinding. "Thanks. I hope this isn't too spicy for whoever else comes along," he added.

He stood smiling at her and raised a brow when she was finished. "You need me, sweetheart. A great friend who needs to remind you just how special you are to him."

"Okay, just for that? I'll fix you a plate," she laughed, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "So how's life in the world of Johnny? What have you been doing?"

"Yes! Thank you," he said. "Ah, you know, everything's the same. Been watching over Savannah a good bit as she's not been feeling all that great. Nightmares."

"Nightmares suck," Isabel said as she fixed Johnny a plate. "Especially when they keep you from sleeping. Because then you get overtired and they get more vivid. It's a vicious cycle." Not that Isabel had any experience with nightmares. Nope, not at all.

He raised his brows, accepting the plate gratefully with a thank you. "Sweetheart? You having nightmares too?" Was this a Fandom thing and he just hasn't had any yet? No, god, he had that one about Wyatt but he was doing his best to forget about it, maaan!

"Not so much now," she shrugged. "But before? When I first got back from Antar? It was rough for a while. Now they only happen if I'm really upset or over-tired."

"Which I hope has not happened in a long time? Cause seriously, you look great. Probably I should be nice to Wyatt since you look so good," he said, giving her a wry grin.

"Not for a while," Isabel promised. "And you should be nice to him. It'll make me happy."

"Good," he said with a nod. "If it will make you happy then all right, just don't expect me to like... do the buddy thing or something." He took a bite and winked at her, grinning.

"So I should cancel the golf outing I booked you guys on?" she teased as she fixed her own plate.

"Most definitely. Now, if it was motocross? I might be inclined to put up with him for an hour or two," he joked.

"I don't think that's his thing," Isabel said. "So you're safe."

Yeah, Johnny figured. Motocross was a man's sport. What? He could totally think things in his head.

"So, you got any plans for Halloween?"

Did Isabel mention that she was psychic? Okay, no, she wasn't. But she still eyed Johnny, pretty sure some sort of macho put down was drifting through his head. Still, he didn't say it, so she had to give him credit for that.

"Probably some Trick or Treating. Beyond that? I'm not sure. Maybe I'll give Wyatt a demo of my costume."

If Johnny even for one second thought Isabel was psychic, he would totally be giving her good images and thoughts to sort through in his head. Yes. Nakedness might be involved too because hey, he was a teenage guy. I mean, come on.

"Oh? What are you dressing up as?"

"I've got this gorgeous belly dancer costume. Except I have a feeling I'm going to be rather cold wearing it. It's a bit on the skimpy side."
