2nd floor common room, Saturday late morning

Johnny was just headed out of the shower when he thought to get a glass of orange juice. Heading into the common room he did just that but noticed that hey! cartoons were on!

Sitting down, he was just only going to stay for a minutes while he watched the coyote blow up stuff. He loved this cartoon!

[the CR is public! and open! yo!]

She chuckled. "Not a milkmaid. Just a normal teenage girl with a cousin who suffers from a hero complex." Granted, she had a wide range of abilities, but she wasn't about to tell Johnny that, no matter how hot he was. "The only thing I was exposed to was the stink of Bessie the cow and the general weirdness that was Smallville." Which is a total lie, but she passes it off believably. She's a better liar than Clark and she's really thankful for that.

Granted, if Johnny actually tried to keep an eye on Kara, he might notice that she could appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.

"I'm guessing that time in this place will do that to you," she said wryly. "Here I thought that Smallville had broken mine completely." She grinned at him. "How long have you been here?"

"A hero complex. Not a hero," she replied, watching the steam rise from his chiseled body. Thank you, Clark. Thank you, Rao. This is so much better than Saturday morning cartoons. "He has this thing where he thinks he needs to save everyone or something." Kara doesn't have that complex yet, though she'd probably end up developing it. She'd already saved one Lex Luthor once, and that had caused more problems than it should have.

Kara gave his body a quick x-ray. She couldn't make anything out - really, Clark was better at her than that - but the rising steam...didn't seem completely human.

"I'm a junior," she replied. "You?"

"Criminal Justice, Ye Shall Be As Gods, and The Art of Cool. You?" She watched the steam rise higher than it was before and fixed Johnny with a gaze. "So, is your innate ability to just walk around in a towel all day, or is there something you're trying to hint at, what with the steam and all?"

"Hot in other ways besides the obvious?" She leans forward, highly interested.

Pfft.

Girlfriend.

It's not like he's cheating on his girlfriend by having a flirty talk with the new girl.

"You tell me your secret, I'll tell you mine."

"Well, I did say that was from a town of freaks under the influence of meteor rocks, didn't I?" She grinned. "Surely, there must be a secret or two I'm hiding."

"Judging by the smile on you face, I was hoping you would be," she said with a raised brow. "That, along with the fact that you seem to have steam constantly rising from you even though you've been out of the shower for awhile. Now, I know you're hot, but you can't be that hot without being a little...above normal." She grinned at him smugly.

She was quiet for a moment.

Clark had told her to keep her abilities a secret, but...there were so many people here, it seemed like, with superhuman abilities. (Also, anthromorphic turtles.)

Really, what was the need for it?

The grin watered down to a smile that dared Johnny to take the bait. "Maybe I'll give you a demonstration of my own, hot stuff."

She seemed less surprised and more impressed. "So you're a flamer. Nice," she mocked. She looked around for a moment before looking back at Johnny and blew a soft gust of arctic cold breath from her mouth to his finger.

Or at least Kara tried to.

The breath certainly came out colder than human breath should have been, but it was my no means arctic.

She grinned. "That would be telling, and a girl never gives away too many secrets the first time she's met a young gentleman."

Ah, the things one can learn from watching boring, old classic movies on tv.

Kara gave him her best pout. "So how does a girl get to find out about the rest of your secrets, Johnny?"

[identity profile] kara-kent.livejournal.com 2008-01-06 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I see..." she said, setting down her empty cup of coffee. "And how does one do that?"

[identity profile] kara-kent.livejournal.com 2008-01-06 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
She smirked back. "And how would I know?"
