2nd floor common room, Saturday late morning

Johnny was just headed out of the shower when he thought to get a glass of orange juice. Heading into the common room he did just that but noticed that hey! cartoons were on!

Sitting down, he was just only going to stay for a minutes while he watched the coyote blow up stuff. He loved this cartoon!

[the CR is public! and open! yo!]

Food.

Kara Kent needed food.

She'd been told that the common room was pretty much the place for that.

So, faster than three blinks of an eye, Kara had showered, dressed, and then slowed down enough so that was walking like a normal human girl towards the common room, dressed in her red Ugg boots, a denim miniskirt, and a long-sleeved red and blue top.

The sound of a cartoon was heard loud and clear as she poured herself a cup of coffee and toasted a bagel for herself.

Kara turned around to see a handsome face marred with an entirely too happy and goofy grin greeting her.

"Good morning," she said pleasantly. "I'm not...disturbing you, am I?" Because Rao knows that when it comes to a boy and cartoons, sometimes they like all the nonbotheration they can get.

"Kara. Kara Kent."

She really needed to get used to saying that, because she still wanted to introduce herself as Kara Zor-El.

It was then that she noticed that Johnny was shirtless.

And in a towel.

Thank you, Clark.

Kara took a seat on a large, cushiony armchair, sinking comfortably into it, and sipped her coffee while watching the cartoon.

The Coyote, in a span of less than a minute, had screwed up again.

Kara gave Johnny an amused look. "Smallville, Kansas," she said simply. "Boring little farming town filled with freaks who've been exposed to some crazy meteor rock that fell from the sky." Kara paused for a moment. "My brain seems to be getting more and more broken though, but not in a bad way." Even though apparently this place is filled with anthromorphic turtles and girls named Turtle and cute, demon-fighting boys. "What about you, Johnny Storm? Where are you from? And how long did it take you for your brain to break?"

She chuckled. "Not a milkmaid. Just a normal teenage girl with a cousin who suffers from a hero complex." Granted, she had a wide range of abilities, but she wasn't about to tell Johnny that, no matter how hot he was. "The only thing I was exposed to was the stink of Bessie the cow and the general weirdness that was Smallville." Which is a total lie, but she passes it off believably. She's a better liar than Clark and she's really thankful for that.

Granted, if Johnny actually tried to keep an eye on Kara, he might notice that she could appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.

"I'm guessing that time in this place will do that to you," she said wryly. "Here I thought that Smallville had broken mine completely." She grinned at him. "How long have you been here?"

"A hero complex. Not a hero," she replied, watching the steam rise from his chiseled body. Thank you, Clark. Thank you, Rao. This is so much better than Saturday morning cartoons. "He has this thing where he thinks he needs to save everyone or something." Kara doesn't have that complex yet, though she'd probably end up developing it. She'd already saved one Lex Luthor once, and that had caused more problems than it should have.

Kara gave his body a quick x-ray. She couldn't make anything out - really, Clark was better at her than that - but the rising steam...didn't seem completely human.

"I'm a junior," she replied. "You?"

Shawn wandered in munching on a pack of chips, and stopped in the doorway when he saw Johnny.

"Did I miss a shirtless day notice?"

[identity profile] kara-kent.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Criminal Justice, Ye Shall Be As Gods, and The Art of Cool. You?" She watched the steam rise higher than it was before and fixed Johnny with a gaze. "So, is your innate ability to just walk around in a towel all day, or is there something you're trying to hint at, what with the steam and all?"

"Well good, I think I used up my public nudity quota for the school year already," Shawn admitted, wandering in to flop on a sofa.

Reno was bored. He didn't have Rude around to pester, after all.

So Reno, who was bored, had decided to take the opportunity to wander around the dorms.

The second floor common room, being part of the dorms, happened to also be wandered into.

"Shirtless television watching. Some kinda new trend I should know about?"

"Hot in other ways besides the obvious?" She leans forward, highly interested.

"Managed to get away with an A grade and no detention the last time," Shawn said. "Don't really want to go pushing it."

"Just got back from Seattle last night," he continued. "Family overload."

Reno's response was initially a snort and a shrug of his shoulders. After a moment, he felt the burning need to clarify.

"You can wear whatever you want. Not like I care. I was never one to adhere to dress code, yo."
