Second Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Dick had insisted getting a piggyback ride instead of walking the ten feet it took to get to the common room. It was way too early for Meg to say no to people, especially kids.

"Go watch TV. Be good. Don't ask anybody that comes in to play doctor with you," Meg said. She had fallen for the doctor thing before when they were kids. Twice.

After making sure that Dick had found some cartoons to watch, Meg went into the kitchen and got out stuff to make pancakes.

[Totally open. Go ahead, traumatize her into not having kids for a long, long time. And, yes, when she figures out that this is an island-wide thing she'll be making a lot more pancakes to accommodate]

Dick was sitting in front of the TV happily, proud of the fact that he suckered Meg into making him breakfast.

He pulled a Rubik's Cube out of his pocket and sat it down beside him. Sparkles was hiding because weetiny!Dick had wanted to play with him like he was an action figure earlier. Sparkles was a living thing, not an action figure. It was insulting. Dick figured Sparkles would come around when he realized that Spongebob was on.

Rikku eyed the Rubik's Cube for a long time, eyes wide.

"Wossat?" she managed, pointing.

Sokka bounced on the couch. "OOH OOH OOH OOH!!! SPONGEBOB!!! Spongebob and pancakes are the BESTEST THINGS EVER!!!"

Andrew peeked into the common room. There were people there. He considered running back to his room, but he was hungry.

And there were cartoons.

Maybe they wouldn't notice him. He crept into the room, trying to find a space where he could see the television and hopefully not be seen. Food could wait.

Meg had been watching Dick closely over her cooking so of course she noticed when Andrew came in. Not that she knew it was him. She took off her first (because now she knew she'd have to make more) batch of pancakes off the stove and walked over to Andrew.

"Hey honey," Meg said, taking on that mom voice all girls could bring out when they were around kids. "You hungry?"

Isabel knew if she searched through the common rooms she'd find food. Even better? She found Meg.

"Can I have some?" she asked with a shy smile.

"Of course!" Meg said with a smile. She was glad the Fandom food fairies had restocked on the Bisquick last night. "You can have as many as you want."

Johnny came running into the common room as fast as his little legs could carry him.

"Hi! Hi!"

"Hi!" Meg said, bouncing a little. She loved kids. "You want some food? I'm making pancakes. A lot of them."

Andros had woken up that morning and after a while had realized that he was hungry. He had decided to go in search of food and he ended up coming to the common room.

"Hello," he said quietly.

"Hello," Meg said, resisting the urge to 'awww' at the little kid out loud. "You hungry?"

At some point, Jo clattered into the common room.

"Hi! Hi! Hi!" she crowed. It was not an indoor voice.

Finally, someone she recognized at first sight.

"Hey Jo," Meg said in a quiet indoor voice, hoping that maybe Jo would take the hint. "How are you this morning?"

Sky was on his way outside to play, but he smelled breakfast. Deciding that playing could wait, he came into the 2nd floor common room. A red towel was tied around his neck.

"Uberman smells breakfastses with his uber nose!"

"Uberman is right," Meg said with a grin. "You like pancakes?"

Hermione had woken up early, still seventeen, and spent some time in the computer lab, so when she came back up the stairs and heard the sounds coming from the common room, she had to investigate.

"Oh, not again."

Teyla was hungry, and while she was certain she could make food for herself, she wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to get some from someone older and probably wiser.

Awww, they kept getting cuter. Meg bent down to meet the little girl at eye level.

"Morning," she said with a smile. "Are you hungry? I'm making pancakes."

Meg actually might be breaking the world record for most pancakes made in a single morning.

Savannah had followed Johnny in and when she saw Meg, her smile widened.

"Meg! Meg! Meg!"

Lucas looked around shyly at all the people in the common room, not thinking he knew any of them. Except that mean girl with the frizzy hair. "'Morning guys," he said.

Hoshi could hear the commotion all the way up on her floor, so she grabbed her blankie and came downstairs to see what was going on. Her tummy was rumbling anyway, and she could smell pancakes.

She didn't say anything but just looked up at Meg with wide eyes.

"Morning!" Meg said, smiling. "You want some pancakes?"

Adah's return to her room in luei of the complication of stairs called for a detour, she was thinking, as she carefully limped along the wall and past the common room and smelled the unmistakable scents of breakfast. She hadn't even realized she was hungry until she was reminded of food. She looked at the wall that was supporting her and drew in a deep, tentative breath, as if the breath would hold her, as she carefully let go. She wobbled a little, but, once she grappled with her balance, she made a few, difficult, limping steps without the aid of something solid until she got to the doorway, where she then practically fell forward with the eagerness to grasp onto it for dear life. Even holding onto the doorframe tightly, she wobbled a little, but, no that there were people here, she tried not to show it and looked up, looked around, trying to spot out where the food was and who would feed her.

Lana poked her head in the door. There were lots of kids here, but she didn't know any of them. And there was one big girl who looked like she was making breakfast. Lana went over towards the kitchen area and waited politely.

Maybe she should tug on her pant leg to be noticed? Or maybe she should just be a good girl and wait.

Meg didn't realize Lana was there until she almost ran into her. Thankfully she had been moving slower due to all the kids around.

Hungry, with a very confused Gulliver at her heels, she ventured next-door to the common room, looking around to try and locate the source of all the tasty treats.

A wee Gwynn had followed Eve into the common room and was excited about food. She tugged gently on Meg's pants leg.

"Excuse me... are you making breakfast?"

"Yes I am," Meg said, looking down at Gwynn with a smile. "Pancakes. You want some?"

Rikku wobbled into the common room. And waved. At everybody.

Oh! That girl was cooking! She wandered over, still clutching a stuffed chocobo.

"Hi," she said. Staring right up at Meg with huge eyes.

After investigating her hallway, Alex wandered a floor down, lured into the common room by the smell of food.

Noticing how many other kids were in the room, Alex gasped. "Whoa."

It wasn't until she saw Alex's reaction that Meg realized just how many kids were in the room. "Whoa is right. Come on in!"

Sokka skidded into the room dragging a very displeased-looking chinchilla. "PAAANCAKES!!! I smell PANCAKES!!! I WAAAAAAAANT SOME!!!!"

"Holy crap," Meg muttered as she boggled at Sokka. That guy was getting his syrup rationed.

Jack was very helpful no he wasn't.

Makoto made 'her' way down eventually, as 'she'd' promised Alex.

And blinked at how overrun the room was with children.

"I'm so glad I didn't get hit with this bit of weirdness."
