April Fools Party, Third Floor Common Room - Tuesday Night

The TV was hooked up to play only music videos and had a microphone set up with it, the pizza was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of soda for all.

A sign outside the common room read:

APRIL FOOLS PARTY!
Free food, drinks and karaoke. All welcome. Bring a friend!

"There's a method to the madness that is party-throwing. Sure, you can throw random parties, but then people will always wonder why and if it's for no particular reason, even if you say 'all welcome', most people will assume that they're not welcome and that it's only for the party-thrower's friends. If you have a party based around a holiday, even a fairly innocuous one like April Fools, then people feel more welcome because it's a public holiday, so it's a public party. Everyone can feel more entitled to admission to said party instead of feeling like they're gatecrashing. See what I mean?"
