April Fools Party, Third Floor Common Room - Tuesday Night

The TV was hooked up to play only music videos and had a microphone set up with it, the pizza was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of soda for all.

A sign outside the common room read:

APRIL FOOLS PARTY!
Free food, drinks and karaoke. All welcome. Bring a friend!

Party sponsored by Ferris Bueller

[OOC: Going up a little early.]

"I know what it would look like," Romeo said, quicksilver shifting his face into an imitation of Benvolio looking very, very surprised and stupid to demonstrate.

Of course, given Annette's lack of context, it probably just looked like Romeo looking dumb.

"It was fun," he agreed. "And I'm rather off sweets myself. Though I do still think Master Skywalker should help us fly for an Ethics session."

"And that picture would be worth a picture in and of itself," she said, chuckling over the face he made.

"It it wasn't for A.J. making me eat a half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I wouldn't have eaten a single thing good for me this last weekend." She raised a brow, smiling. "I'm not in his class, but if you fly? I would have wished I was."

"I had cereal -- that wasn't too bad, I suppose," Romeo mused. "It's an interesting class. I loathed it the first week, but now I understand his perspective better, I like it more. Though not as much as I would if there was flying."

She smiled softly. "Cereal is not bad at all, especially if there was milk invovled," Annette agreed. "I've never taken a class from Professor Skywalker; I hear mixed things about him. Can I ask why you loathed it at first?"

Romeo went very still, weighing his answer. "He was rather rigid, and took a position opposite my own on ... well, on what was worth dying for," he said. "And he has a way of asking questions that cut to your quick, when he thinks you're wrong."

Her eye narrowed, just slightly as she considered what he was saying. "What is worth dying for, Romeo, that was being questioned? I mean, if you don't mind my asking."

"It was three months ago, and my memory is imperfect," Romeo cautioned, suddenly more somber. "But the gist of the argument was what would make self-sacrifice acceptable. I ... " he didn't want to explain it, he was tired of it. "I knew someone who killed herself for love. I took exception."

"Oh, my goodness..." and didn't that hit a little too close to home? "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have asked."

"I did rather beg the question, and I wouldn't have answered if I hadn't wanted to," Romeo said, still somber.

Besides, he'd left out the worst parts of the story.

"You'd no way to know."

She nodded. "No, I know. It's just a sad subject and this is a party and I feel I've dampered your mood now."

"I recover quickly," Romeo (accurately) reassured her.

"Good," she said, smiling slightly. "We should have some pizza!"

"We should," Romeo agreed, heading over to grab a slice for himself and one for Annette. "Is there a kind you like, or should I surprise you?"

"Oh, surprise me," she said, following him. "But none with those little fishies... and no onions! Or peppers. But okay, surprise me."

Romeo looked at her, amused, hand hovering over the pepperoni pie. "And should I look for one with a lot of cheese, or just enough, for this surprise?"

She had to think about that. "Just enough. Cheese is nice but I've got a fashion show coming up." Which probably made no sense to Romeo whatsoever.

It didn't, but he had a vague notion it had something to do with Annette's appearance and he knew better than to say anything about that.

He handed her a slice of pepperoni on a plate. "For m'lady, I have pizza with no anchovies, no peppers, no onions, and just enough cheese."

"What fashion show?" he had to ask.

Romeo was wise. Although seriously, she just ate a weekends worth of sugar. What's a little extra cheese?

She accepted the plate with a bright smile and a, "Thank you, Romeo. It's perfectly perfect."

Annette had to take a bite and she didn't answer him until she'd swallowed. "Oh, it's just something that's being discussed for cheerleading right now. A little fashion show for the school..."

Romeo smiled at that. "Cheerleaders in little outfits? I'll make certain to check it out."

She grinned. "I don't know how little they will be, mind you, if little at all... but then again, cheerleaders do wear short skirts."
