Scorpius Campfire, Sunday Evening
As it turned out, Jen didn't handle hangovers very well, which had something to do with the way she'd managed to completely miss out on any and all pony-related activities yesterday.
She could have been a pony for all she knew, but she'd been asleep through all of it thanks to the wonders of Aleve; apparently 21st-century painkillers had quite the effect on a 31st-century physiology unused to them. So yay for that, she supposed.
She'd managed to get a fire going -- a small and kind of ragged one, definitely not the kind of fire-building that would win a merit badge, but it was erratically crackling away as Jen went through some martial arts forms nearby. Sure, there was a gym on the campgrounds, but being around all these trees made her kind of nostalgic for the days when the best she'd had was that rope-wrapped tree in that Silver Hills park.
Besides, this was where she'd laid out the s'more makings. Duh.

"I'm... surviving. Well enough, of course. Yourself?"
Best to keep off the subject of himself. It was a rather troublesome subject at the moment.

"What are you taking?"

"That last one seems to be all about running away, which is something I can certainly do."
He smiled at the mention of Miss Lulu though.
"Miss Lulu is a lovely teacher. And I enjoyed being her TA. I was supposed to take her class as well, but there was a paperwork mix up which put me in the vacationing class."

He wasn't exactly sure if he'd want to, but sometimes, Chad was nice to a fault.

"That's all right. Miss Lulu would probably give me notes if I asked. We do cooking every once in a while and she usually ends up teaching me something then. But thank you for the offer."
His curiosity was obvious enough.
"Are you interested in fashion?"
no subject
He trailed off, shrugging. He didn't want to go too far into the Teddy thing, with him gone at the moment.
no subject
"I'm sure you'll do well with that. This place has very good teachers."
no subject

"That's unfortunate."
He lifted his chin.
"Miss Lulu won't do anything like that. She expected me to know what I was doing and to help others." Or perhaps he'd taken it upon himself to do that. "And she had me lead class a few times."

He was curious. And he might never find out again.

He thought it would be rude to ask what the point of something like that might be, so he didn't.
"What kind of clothes does she design?"

It was obvious he was just trying to understand the concept as opposed to just being difficult.

"Rules, guidelines. Skills...?"

The idea of that was sort of odd to him. He supposed there was something to showing of the genuine drape off of a human frame, but he didn't know why you'd need to be a professional for that. He didn't want to be disheartening, though, so he nodded.
"That makes sense. Some people don't look good in pictures."
He'd seen that in books.
no subject
At least, Chad would keep telling himself that.

"Some people can put their heart and care into their cooking more or less than others, let others feel through the food. A model is like that, then. Someone who can take all the things that make an outfit and make more than just a person in a costume out of it. Like a chef and ingredients."
It made sense to him.
no subject
"Yeah. Or a musician and his instrument or something..."
no subject
"It sounds interesting," he admitted. "And I could see you especially being very good at it."
