Scorpius Campfire, Sunday Evening

As it turned out, Jen didn't handle hangovers very well, which had something to do with the way she'd managed to completely miss out on any and all pony-related activities yesterday.

She could have been a pony for all she knew, but she'd been asleep through all of it thanks to the wonders of Aleve; apparently 21st-century painkillers had quite the effect on a 31st-century physiology unused to them. So yay for that, she supposed.

She'd managed to get a fire going -- a small and kind of ragged one, definitely not the kind of fire-building that would win a merit badge, but it was erratically crackling away as Jen went through some martial arts forms nearby. Sure, there was a gym on the campgrounds, but being around all these trees made her kind of nostalgic for the days when the best she'd had was that rope-wrapped tree in that Silver Hills park.

Besides, this was where she'd laid out the s'more makings. Duh.

Campfires were kind of reminiscent of life on the farm with Ebenezar, and Harry loved s'mores. So it was only natural he'd end up at a campfire eventually. Sure, it took a week, but Harry wasn't exactly social.
So here he was, wandering a couple cabins over, and eyeing the marshmallows.

"You sharing?"

Jen executed the back snap kick she'd been tensing up for when he'd spoken, then stopped and turned. "Yeah, sure. Help yourself, there's plenty."

"Cool." Harry grabbed a marshmallow and a stick and sat down, totally not watching the girl who could totally kick his ass training. "Thanks."

Brooke didn't live in Scorpius, but she was just happy to see someone out and doing stuff tonight. "Look, people!" she said in greeting.

"Hey," Jen replied, waving a bag of marshmallows. "You're . . . Brooke, right?" It had been a while since that pizza in the common room but she hoped she remembered right.

Chad lifted a hand in a wave to his little sis. "How goes it?"

Sundays were days to mingle, so declared Dick on this Sunday. So he took a stroll over to Scorpius. After all, the only thing better than mingling was mingling with s'mores.

"Did you bring enough for everyone?" he asked.

"Um, well." Jen glanced at the jumbo-sized bag of marshmallows. "For everyone so far, at least?"

She resolutely chose to ignore the tiny part of her brain that was telling her to go over, hug the marshmallows, and howl mineminemine.

Chad was discovering a severe lack of things to do while his boyfriend was in outer space.

Luckily, that's why there were campfires, which most likely held things for s'mores, and Chad gravitated toward Scorpius as if the offerings of chocolate, graham crackers, and delicious gooey marshmallows had called him over.

He had a brief comment for the girl doing forms, which he couldn't help noticing. "Looks good," he commented, always one to want to offer encouragement. Then he gestured toward the food. "Take it this is open for everyone?"

It would be silly of someone to bring them out in public and not expect people to assume as much, really.

See, if Jen got out more often, she'd have learned the Fandom rule of having food in common areas, and either resigned herself to sharing her precious s'more makings or kept them hoarded in her alcove. And this was where not being inclined to social behavior bit her in the ass.

"Thanks," she said as she stopped to readjust her hair tie. "And well, yeah, sure. I mean, I wouldn't bring this out here just to taunt people with it."

"Hey, guy I haven't met," Dick greeted. "How are you tonight?"

"Chad, I have no hooves."

Yes, Jeff was still stuck on that.

He settled at the fire, wondering where Ino was that she'd missed their usual meeting for today. That said, he didn't look too upset. Just a bit pensive.

Noticing the makings of s'mores, however, he leaned over to look at what she might be doing.

Chad lifted his hand in a bit of a wave to Liir; he hadn't seen him in a while and the last time they talked hadn't exactly been pleasant, as far as he could remember, but he couldn't just outwardly be rude and ignore him.

Jen, deciding that now was as good a time as any to take a break (harder to go through forms with people in the area anyhow), glanced over at the new arrival and nodded.

"You can have some of the marshmallows and stuff," she said, resigned to their fate in other people's stomachs by now.

"I don't have hooves," Jeff felt it was necessary to establish.

Loudly. And repeatedly.

At the nearest campfire he could find. He'd been sleeping for most of the day; it still came as somewhat of a surprise.

"Neither does anyone else," Jamie said as he wandered by the campfire and gave a wave to everyone. "At least you didn't have breasts. And hooves."

"Do you normally?" asked Jen, not even really stopping to marvel at the fact that it was a valid question around here.

Jamie wandered in and waved. "Okay. Who's got the marshmallows?"

"The question is more, do you want some of the marshmallows," Jen noted.

Coming in from her weekend (http://fair-montague.livejournal.com/tag/verona+plotty), Dōjima decided to avoid her own cabin and headed over to pester her favorite roommate ever.

"Tell me, by all that's holy, you have something sugary over here," she said, watching the s'mores covetously. "I need it."
