Cheerleading Exhibition; The Gym; Saturday Afternoon [ 10/25 ]

It was time for the cheerleaders to go about and do their thing in showing all the family and friends of the student body their school spirit! The gym, of course, was decorated in blue and gold, with a giant, sparkly "GO GREMLINS" banner, and there was up-tempo, bass-thumping music spilling out of the speakers as the cheerleaders got read and the audience filed in.

It didn't take an especially smart person -- though Chuck was one -- to make a guess. "She's pretty," she commented lightly.

"Yeah," he agreed with another grin. "She keeps telling me I'm not allowed to be sad and all since I tend to lean that way."

"Sounds like she's smart, too," Chuck said, lightly nudging his knee with hers.

"Smarter than she thinks," he said and nudged back. "She's nice to me."

"Do I get to meet her?" Chuck asked curiously.

"Um, if she's not too busy," Ned said after a moment. "If you want. Do you want? It can maybe happen."

"Do you want me to meet her?" she rephrased. "Because I'd love to break my player's brain meet her."

Ned tried not to let his expression belie his nervousness about all the possibilities here.

"Sure," he said, nodding slowly. "I mean, you should. She knows about you. A little about you."

"Awww, and I know almost nothing about her," she said, smiling down at the bouncy girl.

"No, I know!" Chuck assured him, patting his arm. "What's her name?"

"Kaywinnit," he said without thinking. He'd just pay for later. Technically, it was her name, it just wasn't...the name she liked.

"Pretty!" Chuck declared, and it was true. She'd never heard a name like that. "And unusual!"

Kaylee caught sight of him (it wasn't hard) and eagerly waved back.

She skipped right over, waving at him as she did so and bouncing in her cute little uniform. She liked how it flared! "Hiya!"

"Hi," he said, laughing at the excitement. "How are you?"

"Excited!" she told him, beaming. "This is m'first real thing as a cheerleader!"

"I got my uniform an' my fluffy things," she said, waving her pom-poms at him.

"You look very prepared," he said and turned his body a little towards Chuck's. "Um, I actually had someone come to see me this weekend."
