Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Given how many of her conversations that afternoon had turned to food, Sookie had found herself kind of homesick in spite of herself, especially after facing the prospect of eating what she found in the common room.

So, she took it upon herself to run out and grab some fresh ingredients, and returned back to the common room to boil some rice and throw everything moddable that she'd bought and found that looked good into the pot to make some jambalaya.

She'd taken a little more care and put together a berry cobbler, admittedly using frozen berries. Her gran had always said it tasted the same anyway, so long as you used enough butter.

She kept the TV on while she cooked and familiarized herself with the kitchen, and tried to adjust to the technology and appliances that were ten years ahead of her time. It was fairly easy to figure out, even if some of the commercials threw her for a loop.

[open as common rooms tend to be! look, the big posts were scaring me.]

"I could totally do that. What're the school colors?"

Anemone shrugged. "No idea," she deadpanned. "I'd say ask one of the cheerleaders, but I don't think I know any of them."

She scrunched up her nose as she thought about it. "Blue and yellow, maybe? I think that's the color the uniforms are."

"The cheerleader's uniforms?" Priestly guessed. He still had that inner fear that the school would make them wear uniforms to classes or something.

"Yup. I think we had a flag-football team at one point, but I don't remember if they had uniforms or anything," she answered. "The cheerleaders don't even wear it that often, since they don't have anything to cheer for."

"They just cheer for fun?" He wasn't sure if that was awesome or kinda pathetic.

"They do demonstration-things sometimes?" Anemone didn't really 'get' the idea of cheerleaders, with or without sports, so it was all the same to her. "They also host sleepover parties."

"Co-ed sleepovers?" Priestly asked hopefully.

Anemone gave him a crooked grin. "Have you gotten your room assignment yet? It's a co-ed dorm, with co-ed rooms," she informed him. "Everything is co-ed around here, even the sex-ed classes."

"The dorm bathrooms on each floor are single-gender only, but I don't think anyone minds."

"Gotta keep some mysteries," Priestly agreed. "And yeah, my roommate's a girl. But you don't wanna assume, you know?"
